My Actifit Report Card: January 12 2019 - Nancy Has Put To Bed
Hey Actifiters and Steemians,
I slept very early and well yesterday because I knew today was going to be very eventful and busy because of the coming of Nancy’s kits (baby rabbit) yesterday night. I had been planning for more than a month now to build another hutch for the rabbit as the little ones are growing so fast and as we separate them into their own cages we need more cages to be built for the new ones that will be needing their own cages.
So I spent today destroying an old hutch that was wrongly or should I say poorly constructed. I had to destroy it with tact because I needed some materials in it to construct the new one. After feeding them in the morning I jumped into the project of the day. First I needed to cut off the legs from the hutch and take it outside of the rabbit housing, this was done so that I do not disturb the rabbits with my banging of the hammer and other carpentry tools. I built the housing of the rabbit in inside a spacy hall in a house and had all the windows sealed with just nets to allow for the free flow of air and preventing the entrance of mosquitoes, flies, rodents, snakes and other things that can be a treat to the rabbit.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to complete my destruction because the sun was just too hot and I kept drinking water continuously as if I was an elephant. Lol. Anyways, I went for a walk in the evening to get some materials more materials for the construction that might set in on Monday if I can’t work on it tomorrow.

I raised rabbits when living in the USA. We designed our cages like the ones I just downloaded from the web. We always made a lower apartment for the kits so the doe rabbit couid go down there to feed them and then get away when she wanted.
Our cages were a little larger than the ones shown here.

Wow! That is great to know, I've seen those types on youtube videos I watched mostly for temperate regions. I think weather is a factor in the type of cages on builds.
Our doe rabbits would sometimes kill the kits if they could not get away from them. I lived in a region where there was snow and many very cold days.
Ahha! I currently live where the weather is hot and can get very hot sometimes, I had to install fans for the rabbit last year when they were breathing as if they were going to die. I had to even get cold bottles from the fridge and put them into their cages to help them cool down a bit. Lol.

By Easter they'll be 3 months old and not matured enough. We have loads of rabbits for that class. Lol.

I always thought that rabbits are born with wool. Interesting message thanks
In the temperate (cold) region they are, I noticed not all my rabbits shade some of their fur after giving birth. In cold region the wool is supposed to help keep them warm, currently we are experiencing great heat so I don't think shading of fur works for this aprticular one.
On weekends, if you have the opportunity, you need to rest. From Monday you will start working with new forces. Thank you for sharing

Very nice activity today. And the talk about the rabbits was very interesting. I like when people talk about their life activities, I always learn something. For instance I didn't know baby rabbits were called kits. And the pictured of the babies are cute. Good post!
