They are really cute when small. Really not much bigger than a german shepherd dog, and not quite strong or fast enough to fight off stray dogs, especially if they are in a pack. That is why they hang with the momma moose for the first 6 to 9 months of growing, learning the ropes, where it's safe to travel, and where it is not. A shame so many get taken out on the roads.

Seen on some video out of Homer about
a dog chasing the moose out of the guys
driveway and about a law that someone
can shoot said moose chasing dogs if seen.

In this case the dog just herded the moose
out of his yard. Unlike other dogs who go
for the byte. But it don't matter if some one
else sees this they can off your dog.

Moose Dog

And then they will be whining about the expensive vet bills from their dog getting kicked by the moose, and unable to pay the bill will have to put the dog down. They should not let their dog harass the wildlife. If they are then they need to accept the responsibility for everything that happens, example dog lured the moos into the street, streets are snowy and icy, berms are high and people can not see over them, moose and dog enter road, driver on road has to slam on brakes goes into a skid, hits moose or dog, or snow berm and get injured, it is 100% the dog owners fault.

Mother and baby moose are so adorable. 😄 Followed their trail from @kona's dailypetphotography. Will be following for more moose photos and will check out more.

Nice to meet you @happyfree! followed back! :-)
Awesome trail to follow @kona's dailypetphotography!

OMG! Will you look at that amazing photograph of Mom and calf together...perfect. Such an adorable calf and such amazing photography as usual. Tip!

Thank you very much @whatisnew! ❤ 🐱
Wore the camera out darn near on these
moose lately lol

That is good to hear because you know how much I love moose photos. : )

Thank you very much for the compliments
and the tipy! 💕 Seems these moose are
getting a little more frequent now, keeps
me hopping lol

I got some real cool ones for you and other
moose happy folks in the kitty waiting to be
let loose :-)

Is a bakery here called the ''Moose Is Loose''
They got a cute sign, but really rather make
my own, nothing here beats those outstanding
european bakeries and dessert places!

The pleasure is all mine , my friend! : )
More cool moose photos waiting...YAY! : )
The name of that bakery sounds so funny and delicious too. Take a bite for me. : )

really great shot of these beautiful animals

Thank you very much @skytoin! :-)
It sure is exciting to see them, especially
in good lighting, usually they are in the
trees and only see parts lol

Awwww I love the babies!

Aren't they just the sweetest! :-)

So cute little guy, I can't imagine how it must be to camp in Alaska and spot all those wild animals around.

About the same as the southern extremes only opposite?
But then there is the question of bears!

Ah! the bears are a huuuuuuge difference hahhahaha here I can sleep knowing no animal is going to eat me.

For the most part the wild life is ok
It's them two legged ones ya gotta
watch out for! haha

Got a pic of a blur bear a few evenings
back, not posted yet. Need to have a
blur day :-)

The little one is so cute!

Looking right at me to, even tho the photos
are taken through the glass slider door lol
If I opened it the moose would leave, some
don't leave, but this mom is more skittish.

I find myself taking pictures through the door and window too...so that I don't miss the shot. My back door doesn't open quietly...unfortunately.

I try to keep the windows clean just for picture taking lol
Get a few shots before opening the door sometimes, then
open and try to get a few more non glass ones 💕 :-)

I never seem to be able to get the non-glass ones. They always run away. I will keep trying though. :)
