I rewatched the LOTR trilogy not too long ago. Great films that I love re-watching ...

... about every two years. How different is that with the hobbit trilogy...I did try to watch it again but man...It’s so dull somehow...a real shame....I turned it off. But, I never read the book, so that’s what I’m doing now on a blanket in the park under the shadow of a tree. It’s the first real warm day in the Netherlands. Life is pretty darn good today!

It's weird at first compared to LOTR I didn't find the Hobbit movies as good but now I love them just as much as LOTR.

Maybe I should give them one more go after I finish the book.

This is the first picture of you reading a book.
Haha, true LOTR fan.

Hehe, if you thought the film's were dull wait till you get right into the book.

Cue me being slaughtered by the Tolkien fans :0D

O no! But it’s only 300 pages!

I know, it's incredible how he does it!

Hehe To be Honest Hobbit and the Lord of the rings series always bored me , I never watched any part of them seriously.

Hey have you watched the movie called “All the money in the world ” if not then I would like to suggest you to watch that 😊

You look like you're preparing for a bank job. :)

I love LOTR, the trilogy was a part of my adolescence and I love what he makes me feel...

Also, good to know that the good weather is coming, I came to a conclusion (nothing scientific) that the weather in the Netherlands reflexes itself in Portugal 3-4 days later...

Nice mood, lives goes on, the brain grabs knowledge

If anything, the book makes you realize how good The Hobbit movies actually are. The source material is meant more as a kids story in The Lord of the Rings universe and that's what the movies are as well. Except for the last one, that starts to get dark to better tie into the original trilogy.

I had no idea! For me, so far, the story moves along a little quicker than in the movies.

Oh yeah, I can see that. It was supposed to be a two parter originally. It ended up being a trilogy instead with a lot of added story you won't find in the book. I guess it's one of the rare examples where the movie is actually an extended version of the story instead of an abbreviated one like with most movies based on books.

Its so tiny that I wouldn't be surprised if you finish it before the sun goes down. At that time you are just gonna be reading under a tree in the dark LOL. I thought it was boring, but do let us know what you thought.

Wonderful! Our family loves Tolkien! You are right. The Hobbit movies have alot of filler. They took a small book and stretched into 3 movies. They left out alot of good content, and added cinematic fluff. Enjoy your time in the park! Be well.
