It was the one they had on Netflix. About 3 to 3,5 hours per movie.

It's true. I have noticed the same with many films. You have have the knowledge that you have seen the film but all detail is gone once you start watching. There are some key moment's you do remember of course.
Very strange, I woke up wanting to watch LOTR trilogy today. Great stuff.
I'd say, get all the supplies you need and spend half a day in middle earth. My Sunday was awesome. No regrets.

That's my fave moment in the trilogy. That armour donning scene with Theodin (sxuse spelling).
I loved reading that when I was a kid and as a 30 something I was delighted to find that the films did it justice (IMO) and massively reduced the last seven 'going home' chapters which as an 11 yr old reader I still remember as tedious....

I used to love to read books btw. Crawl up and read for hours.
But now, I somehow lost the ability to concentrate. I have asked around and it seems I am not the only one that suffers from this.
That is an epic luxury! But a pretty long movie session - was that nearly 8 hours?
