Losing control. Intense pen drawing.
In between doing a lot of commissions for other people, I was working on this 9x12" beast for myself.
This drawing was around 16 hours to complete.
The last thing I did was add the little guys within the 3 heads.
Lonesome dude.
Another lonesome dude.
Within 2 of the mouths I added faces that resemble teeth.
I knew I wanted to draw 3 connected faces. I left out 3 boxes above their head to do last. I wasn't sure what I was going to do.
At this point I was going to do an ear, an eye, and a nose in the 3 boxes. "Hear nothing, See nothing, Say nothing." But I thought was a little obvious and overdone. Maybe in a future piece. So instead I did the 3 little guys in the heads.

I like the look of your work, it's a bit spooky to see how those little people inside the heads exercise some control by taking the levers between their hands. I liked the detail of drawing faces inside the mouths that resemble teeth. Congratulations for doing such a good job.
Hello @achristopherart, I've been fascinated with the power of your abstraction, they really look like 3 faces connected and handled by 3 individuals with different facets.
the dedication to make the strokes is too meticulous and if it took you 16 hours to make the drawing is crazy. but it was worth the result.
it's like an amorphous living organism that's the feeling it gives me, something similar to the characters that appear in the videos of the progressive metal band Tool

Thank you. Most of my "full" scale drawings are in the 8-20 hour range.I'll definitely check out those Tool videos.
The detail! Holy crap. I can't believe it only took 16 hours. You're amazing. It's so creepy but I love it. Especially the rag doll looking things that are controlling it.
I basically see three dead heads covered in webs that have been somehow occupied by these creepy little beasts. I get the idea they've taken them over separately but are joining them together to execute some larger task. It's more like the eyes are missing and the heads have started to waste away leaving behind the traces of the original face.

Hi @achristopherart, as you said this really an intense drawing. It like small creatures live inside a tree monster. and it control the tree monster activities.
You were very creative and talent to draw this type of drawing. Need to have a lot of patience and very detail in order to complete it. and you did it. Bravo.
Do you also draw something colorful or all of your drawing were by pen?
I have done a few watercolor paintings... but I don't think I'm that great with it. I stick with black and white.

hahah. Thank you. I was trying to get faster for many years. As of recently I've slowed down though.
You've slowed down? Oh, wow! And I thought that was fast. How much time would you have spent making this at a faster pace?
I feel like I used to be able to complete a drawing like this in around 8 hours. Maybe I'm just getting more detailed now. I'm not sure.
Within 8hrs? That's means you take twice as much time now? Well, it could be that you are being more detailed now....

You did a very good job with the details. I see three grim faces that are formed on a trunk of a big tree which was vandalized with the little-guy carving on top of each face. 😃
Why is that? I think I also commented on one of your previous posts about drawing with colors and you mentioned you're not good at it. How about trying to draw a vase of flowers and not beast? Maybe that will inspire you with colors. 😉
Haha, I need to try a little bit with color again. I meant 'beast' like... it took me a long time to do the drawing.

The vase seem a little creepy on a closer look but that will do for now. It is not obvious from a distance. This is very much of a different them than you previous and recent posts. Now go color it. I am sure this will really look more beautiful with colors. 😊
