RE: My Creative Journey 21 + Watch me Paint! Ep. 09

in #art6 years ago (edited)

I was not really aware of thoughts behind any art. Somehow I guess I thought it just happened somehow because the person is talented. Gee, maybe I was wrong. Can understand now why people study art. It might be a natural talent but needs to be fed and nurtured.

You could put a bkank canvas in front of me and two to smoke......I'd have millions of images and still a blank canvas. No connection or coordination here between inspiration and hands.

Admire your drive and persistence. Nice work

And to emphasize, I do actually color, with crayons, as a passtime. Works for little old ladies. Hehe

Maybe I'll send you one for a grin.

Send me art please! :) I love stuff like that. And if you msg me your address I can send you a postcard as well :)

Yeah, I can't do stuff without thinking about the why... I mean, anyone really can learn the technicals when it comes to art. How to do the perfect whatever...but it's the 'why' that gives the drawing their life. It's that little modification that the person doing the art does that's different than someone else. And, to be able to do that, there needs to be at least some understanding of the driving force behind whatever comes out.

And, I completely get that million-ideas-blank-canvas thing. It's so hard to bridge that gap between the two. I think that's because at the beginning, what comes out is nowhere close to where we think it's supposed to be. The communication between mind and muscle breaks down because the muscle doesn't know the moves yet. It takes grit and patience to get through the process to get the two in sync. If you want it, and if you're willing to wade through the rivers of tears you'll shed...it's there waiting :)

Art is art, no matter the age :)

Once again, this is all just my opinion. Everyone understands art and the process behind it differently. There's no one right path or way to think...and that's a lot of the fun :)

This is making sense. Not to minimize but kind of like hand writing. They show you what lines to draw and from there it is all ours.

Writing is similar. Blank page, sometimes an end in mind but not sure how to get there, etc.

I have a better understanding of why people study art. Learn the tricks and make them your own. Never really thought about the coordination and traing between mind and muscle. Things we do without thinking take time and repetitiveness, imagine art is similar. There are times though to just take a deep breath and plunge ahead.

I'd feel silly sharing any of the stuff I color. It is simply a harmless passtime to keep my hands busy while my mind works. Nothing original except color choices, no comparison to real art. But thanks for your interest.
