My Mixed Media Canvas Project - Part 8
Hello my friends! Remember my mixed media project? We still have a few more steps to do. Today we're adding the last texture elements. These elements are the bulkiest so far, therefore we need to use the glue gun. I am adding some leftovers from other projects: wooden beads flowers, some leaves and silk flowers, some strings of beads. It took me a while to look thorough my craft boxes :)
Here is a more organized collage... well, organizing your crafts is something very hard to do.
These butterflies will be added last. I took this photo to remind myself that I have to add them in the end.
And here is how our canvas looks at this point. I know, it is extremely colorful, but everything will be covered with gesso in the next step, so everything will be white, you will see!

Oh this looks amazing @starjewel ! That took quite a bit of time and effort to get the whole thing up, not to mention picking the right decorations for it!

I take my time for sure. I actually savor this project. 😂🤣 My daughter keep asking me to finish it already, she is so curious to see the end result! I am torturing her lololol.
Wow, @starjewel, this project is really coming along <3 ! It was a while ago that I had kept up with its progress but I really like what you are doing with it with this step :) Wonderful and creative new elements ! I really like the floral and nature motif you are working into the portrait :D
Those beads are also so wonderfully incorporated into the hair of the woman and across at the bottom parts of the portrait, as well ! I love it <3
Keep going ! I think you have an inner compass guiding you with this project and I await to see the completed version, for sure <3
Thanks, I surely have a inner compass 🧭 and let me tell you... the adrenaline rush when I work on this project is so intense! Maybe because it is such a large canvas, I don’t know ... it is so much fun.

Thank you @tattoodjay 😊 It surely is my masterpiece, the first time when I dare to do something like that. I think it’s coming along pretty well. Two more steps and it will be ready.

Wow! The canvass looks beautiful. But what caught my eye the most were the butterflies. I just love them. Can't wait to see the final piece. 😍
The yellow butterflies with stones? I will glue them last, after I paint everything. I want them to stand out, the way they are: shiny and sparkling ✨
Sounds exciting. I'm imagining it will look pretty dramatic with the all-white textures and just the yellow sparkly butterflies standing out. That would look really cool hanging on a bare wall.

I am thinking shadows mostly... something abstract... I am not a painter and I am a little nervous about this step. We’ll see...

For now yeah, it is bright. It will be covered soon with white gesso, no more colors!
