The Sun Trine to Pluto
In effect now ... until very late May

This post is the second in a series on the recent trine between The Sun in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn. This trine forecasts changes in life on Earth, your life in particular -- mine, too ... and everyone's. These posts discuss what this means, what to expect, what to look for and how to work with these impending life adjustments.

Over the next several weeks, you will meet new opportunities, make decisions, adjust your perspectives and hit upon insights that will help change the course of your life. Knowing them when you see them helps a lot when it comes to living a more conscious life in the first place ... and managing it well. There will be several parts to this series -- because life itself is always "complicated." So let's get started.

Find the post on The Sun in Taurus here.

What Pluto means

Pluto is one of the more complex symbols and forces in Astrology. It is deeply involved with generational Karma -- what an entire group of people born during the same years bring to society to implement change and improvement through their attitudes, beliefs, writing and actions.

Pluto deals with fundamental creativity -- but not always the fun, artistic, make-something-while-you-play-and-have-a-good-time kind of creativity. Pluto deals with recycled energy ... things that have been repressed, ignored or forgotten. It transforms, remodels, renovates and upgrades what already exists -- taking discarded materials, talents and elements and fashioning something almost miraculous from these cast-off scraps.

One of the problems with this is -- you may be pretty comfortable with "what already exists." You may like and depend on these features a lot. So when Pluto starts tearing them asunder -- rendering them into what basically amounts to debris and garbage -- you tend to resist this because it feels like your very existence is under attack.

The threat to your survival -- let alone the psychological chaos and distress -- can be enormous. And the time period involved can extend for years.

The promise that "it will be so much better when all this is over" may not be much comfort. But because Pluto is implacable and relentless, when push-comes-to-shove, that assurance that "it will be ok in the end" is all you have. You just have to hold on and go with it.

What Capricorn means

Basically Capricorn energy is about organization and structure. It deals with creating things that are solid and stable, things designed to be impressive and functional, things meant to last. This means it routinely tackles long-term projects -- "tough stuff" -- and invests the planning, hard work and laborious effort required to bring these goals to life.

All the Earth signs deal with what's real, what's practical, what's useful, what makes physical life better and easier to manage. Taurus deals with matters of money, possessions and physical survival -- how to manage material assets to sustain life itself.

Virgo deals with matters of routine, habit, service and daily work -- how to use your talents and skills to improve life's experience for yourself, your loved ones and the people you work for.

Capricorn as the capstone of this trilogy -- the most evolved and proactive of the Earth signs -- concerns itself with helping you make a contribution to your social community with the skills, knowledge, work and perspectives you've acquired and are willing to share. When you've met its requirements, Capricorn bestows authority, status, reputation and honor. It helps you make a statement about what you did with your life -- and what you want to be remembered for.

What Pluto in Capricorn means

Pluto in Capricorn means impressive things on a global level. It's the cosmic indicator right now for the massive unrest people see regarding how governments worldwide operate. It's the spirit of revolution bubbling under the surface of life everywhere. It's the growing conviction that things have got to change radically in order to put humanity back on a positive course.

(It means so much more, too, but I've got to be mindful of space limits here. This is really a topic fit for its own series of posts.)

On a personal level, Pluto breaks up the existing structures in an important part of your life (the themes of the house through which it is presently traveling) -- because the old ways won't work any longer. And it poses the relentless question which you have to answer -- what do you want to do with your life from here?

Where do you go from here?

What do you want to contribute? What do you want to build or create? What do you want to be remembered for? How does this fit into your public life and professional direction? Where do you go from here? Since Pluto arrived in Capricorn in 2008, we've all been working with these questions -- because they matter now, more than ever.

It all began quietly at first -- but has built in a rising crescendo over the years until now ... your life needs a major course correction. Your "old professional habits" won't serve your interests any longer. You need to revolutionize, align and improve this vital part of your life. Yes, that's going to take a ton of work and vision. Which is why I wrote earlier that Pluto's work in your life is rarely welcome or fun.

Revolutions on a global scale start on the individual level. We all play a part, and it's happening now. There's a kind of sympathetic magic taking place through all this. When you and I do the work to put our lives on course -- and face our destinies with candor and courage -- it changes the way we react to life. It gradually -- one piece at a time -- changes the way the whole world operates. When we align ourselves correctly -- everything everywhere eventually falls into place, too. Because it has no other option.

Do your inner work. Do your outer work. Keep your eyes open. Be aware. Watch it all happen.

Thank you for stopping by!

If you've always known there was more to Astrology than Sun Sign material and the three line daily horoscope in the newspaper, climb aboard and follow this blog. You'll find a world of wisdom detailing how you were designed to work with life ... and why you are the way you are -- all in quick-to-read, easy-to-digest-and-remember, written-in-plain-English essays that offer plenty of food for thought.

Little by little, I'm doing a set of articles that talks about all the elements in your horoscope and what they have to say about you. If you "know something" about Astrology -- or know something about your chart placements, that will help you get more from this material.

If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.

One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.

Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Questions about any of this? -- Upvote this post and talk to me in comments. It's a terrific way to build value for yourself and the community ... and it will give me ideas of what to write about in future posts. Believe me there is lots to say about the way The Sun, The Moon -- and all the other elements in a horoscope, all the other components of Astrology -- work together to interpret you and your story -- and what it all means to the person you've become.

This is who I am.

About the art in our visual essays ...

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.

The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.

Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.

So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.

The photos here are part of that collection, with sincere thanks to the artists who saw these moments ... and with their cameras ... preserved them. All of us at Enchanted Spirit are profoundly grateful to them for their generosity and skill ... and for the added grace, depth and dimension their art brings to ours.
