Vitalik Buterin sponsors 3 cryptos projects with 1000 ETHs following a conversation on Twitter

in #bitcoin5 years ago

Ethereum's creator, Vitalik Buterin, has decided to donate $ 300,000 for three crypto projects following a Twitter conversation.

The three cryptos projects that received 1,000 ETHs are Prysmatic Labs, ChainSafe Systems and Sigma Prime. All three are working on building the next iteration of the Ethereum blockchain.

Sigma Prime builds an Ethernet 2.0 client called Lighthouse, Prysmatic Labs is working on Ethernet scalability, and ChainSafe builds an Ethernet 2.0 client.

Two of the projects received donations from the Ethereum Foundation. Prysmatic Labs received $ 500,000 in October and $ 100,000 in March, and Sigma Prime earned $ 150,000 in October.

"Vitalik-non-Giver of Ether" donates Ethereum for crypto projects

The discussion on Twitter has started from ways in which technology could be improved. Some members of the community have argued that inadequate funding is responsible for slow development.

Ryan Sean Adams, founder of cripto investment firm Mythos Capital, said that Ethereum "lacks deadlines and basic operational leadership."

Later, Ameen Solaimani, CEO at SpankChain, replied:

"Ethereum has kept the illusion of being a pioneer for two years. Need to concentrate and resolve urgently the scalability problem to maintain this position. Move fast or die slowly. "

Preston Van Loon, co-founder of Prysmatic Labs and Google software engineer, complained about the lack of funding. He mentioned that, even with the grants received recently

"It is quite difficult for the entire team to work full time. We face significant pay cuts and we do not have enough money for the team we need. "

Buterin replied:

"I just sent you 1000 eth. Yolo [you only live once]. "

A second grant was awarded to Sigma Prime, when co-founder Paul Hauner wrote that his project: "has been postponed for receiving funding several times lately. Surely we can use 1K ETH for many developers! "

Buterin responded with another 1000 ETH.

The third donation was awarded to ChainSafe, a project located in Canada. Mikerah Quintyne-Collins, project coordinator, said:

"I'll quit literally if we do not get $ 100,000 in ETH."

Buterin accepted the commitment and donated the project, demanding "results!".

The irony is that Buterin's Twitter profile clearly points out that he does not donate Ethereum. Creator Ethereum has demonstrated, however, that he is willing to personally support the development of projects, as long as he promises rapid results.
