Sitemap Submissions are Deprecated
I had a crontab job that submits sitemaps to Google, Bing, Live etc, and I found out today that the sitemap submissions are deprecated for some time.
I've got 404, 403 error codes and the Google has declared it deprecated a while ago:
Sitemaps ping is deprecated. See https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2023/06/sitemaps-lastmod-ping.
I found out this because I am refactoring the crontab jobs and one approach I am doing is to redirect the output of the commands in the crontab job to log files which I found out there are errors.
Sitemaps are important for SEO as it informs the search engines if your links are out-dated.
