Today im going to show you the process on how we make our own wine! This year, unfortunately, due to the weather and a wierd year for anything growing. We didnt get as much wine as we normally do. We grow our own grapes and have a few apple trees kicking around the country yard! We live in a zone 3 for gardening, which kinda sucks for growing fun things, but we still manage to grow grapes and are succesful in making our own juice and wine.

Like i mentioned we didnt get a lot of wine to make this year, normally we get about 5 -8 gallons... but this year we only got 1 gallon of wine and 1 gallon of juice.

1st off, we obviously picked the apples. Doesnt matter if they're bruised because they get mushed up anyways, me and baby heidi picked as many apples as we could !

This is the contraption that made our lives EXTREMELY easier! In the past we didnt have anything huge or industrial because we only got wine for us and our family and friends. We actually used to put the grapes inbetween 2 huge soup pots and push down to squeeze the juice out, it took us about 8 hours , 1 entire season of gossip girl & a lot of vodka! Let me tell you, not fun. With this contraption we scored off of kijiji takes about 30 min to 1 hour! LOL now to some of you it might look "mickey mouse" but with the ammount of fruit we produce and make wine with, its perfect for us for now!

Next you throw the whole apples into the big opening and it grinds up the fruit into pieces as shown in the next picture. So easy peasy lemon squeezy !

When the pieces are all broken up, you just turn the crank, and it squeezes them down and the juice comes out!!! NOTHING ELSE ADDED! PURE APPLE AND GRAPE JUICE! It tastes so so so good and pure. No added sugar no nothin!

Of course the next step to making the wine is just throwing in the yeast and waiting 4 months LOL ill do a taste test video at that time with @ate-bit-dave. So thats it! All done, homemade juice and wine! You can literally make wine with anything. If we had enough cherries on our cherry trees, we'd attempt cherry wine. We once made acorn wine from acrons around our property. With the device we have making our lives easier, it sure gets me excited for the next year and following years to come to experiment with more fruits!

... and as always, baby heidi seems to have loved the whole process as well ;)

My uncle also makes his own wine. It's a great present for family and friends :)

Baby Heidi is adorable. I can imagine that she is the best helper! And she probably likes to taste too! :)

Have a lovely day and congratulations on your curie vote!

Thanks so so much! Baby heidi is very cute. My boyfriend was the wine maker when i met him but now we both are!!! Thanks for stoppin by!

Whooaa.. cute baby heidi😍 she did bite the apple😄 i never seen the process to make homemade wine.. but the tools you used to squeeze the juice looks amazing, doesn't it change the taste later?

I remember when my mom used to use the flour maker made from wood when I was a kid, it take a whole day to get a fine fresh quality rice flour, but now.. ahe just purchased it from the market😊

ahh yes, you can purchase everything from the market now... but if you have the time, tools and determination to do it yourself.. I say "why not?!" !!

it didn't change any taste at all!! honestly, it obviously tasted better then store bought apple juice, but what boggled my mind was why it tasted "SIMILAR" to store bought... when we added ZERO sugar! you don't need the extra, added sugar to the juice! sooooo yum!

Interesting... maybe because you put no water while the tool squeeze only juice.. and those at the market needed some additional sugar because only 20-60% extract juice and the rest are water 😂 and yours is the original one..real juice.

Ohhh! What a beautiful baby, the most beautiful eyes I've seen ♡ Also, the idea of the apple is great, super useful and has many benefits, what a joy to see creative and productive people in Steemit ♡♡ Congratulations

Thanks so so so much! She has her papas eyes for sure!!! Xoxo thanks for the comment!

Wow, acorn wine. Did you have to do anything to the acorns? I heard there was a substance called "tannin" or something like that you had to remove before you ate or I assume drink also the acorns. Hope you enjoy the wine!

Oh god! It was a long process. We boiled them for yeaes lol. With grass and sticks hahaha and then when they got boiled down we peeled the shell back ans boiled again, we boiled a loooooooong time. Had a very earthy taste. This was a long time ago, ill see if hubby is up for doing it again and we can document the process!

Oh, interesting. I heard that the Native Americans used to have a process where they used them for flour to make bread.
