Getting my success on.

Self-motivation

Do you know those days where is hard to motivate yourself. You have great intentions of getting up early, running 10k steps before breakfast, (just for your @actifit) and then writing a masterpiece before the dinner. ( One for @curie, to get that artist upvote). So many good ideas float through your mind as you sit down on the couch and settle in for the rest of the day. I spend 45 hours a week in a fairly physical job so the days that i'm not working takes a real effort if I want to accomplish anything. The energy is all used up and the motivation beaten out of me during the week.

Over the past week or two I have been talking about attitude and motivation and how important it is to get them right if one is to succeed. Thats where I am falling right now as i write this post. My mind is tired and I don't really have much to say of importance. I was sitting here trying to piece together a a work of art for my blog but the mind is drawing a blank.

In the past that would be me finished for the evening. I would get frustrated, throw my hands to the sky and rein curses down on every deity that was in my vocabulary. Well not quite that far but i would mutter a few curses and switch on Netflix instead. Nothing written and no progress made for the day. Not this time though. I said that it's important to persevere if I want to progress in the world and on steemit. It's even more important to post when it is a struggle. That's how you know that your attitude is right. I love sports, (watching a hurling match right now) and love movies so I think that the most releveant quote that comes to mind is from "Any Given Sunday,"

On this team, we fight for that inch
On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us
to pieces for that inch.
We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch.
Cause we know
when we add up all those inches
that's going to make the fucking difference
between WINNING and LOSING
between LIVING and DYING.

I'll tell you this
in any fight
it is the guy who is willing to die
who is going to win that inch.
And I know
if I am going to have any life anymore
it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch
because that is what LIVING is.
The six inches in front of your face.
Now I can't make you do it.

Inches make miles.

It's all about gaining those inches. My goal is to get to dolphin status within the next six months. Thats 5000SP by the first of May. Not easy but not an insurmountable challenge. One thing is for sure however, if I want to get there I will need to fight for every sp along the way. And those SP will add up to dolphin. Just doing the math there and it will take me earning 82sp per week to get to my target.

That is why it is so important to keep plugging away. Keep posting, commenting and getting involved. When you reach your target it will all have been worth it.

You can help me get there.

Don't worry, I'm not asking for your money. What i am asking for is your attention. I'm on the quest to find active steemians. People who aren't shy when it comes to reading and engaging with other steemians. I hope over the six months to broaden my circle on here and meet plenty more of you out there.

Give me a follow and see how everything works out along the way.

Feel free to comment, respond, send me a discord. I'm fully available to chat and looking to find other aspiring steemians on their journey to grow there account.

Well that's a very nice gesture, thanks very much. It's going to take a lot of work to grow the account that much but with a lot of time and effort i might get it there.

What about yourself. Any plan or goals to hit. I've always been a fan of setting goals and driving at them. It's the only way that i can stay on track.

I had a goal of hitting 15sp before the 1st of Jan and without delegation. Ended up investing and buying 32Steem so I hit that goal hehe. Wouldn't mind hitting 1k Sp by July. It might be a bit too crazy :D But 100Sp by May is the goal.
But I do also plan on investing more. Maybe 100eur next month hehe xE

The best ways that i have found to earn a few sp regardeless of your account size is through joining a few of the leagues and SBI competitions. There is a redfish league and an engagement league that pay out prizes. If you can put in the time and effort there is up to 12 steem to be won each week plus SBI shares. All most of them take is a lot of comments.

I think I am in the redfish league.
I am in sbi and kiwi now and just as you do I use actifit.
One of the problems I have is that I dont have a niche, right I just write when I write and with my currently fulltime job, I lack the motivation to do research on coaching topic which is where my interest lay.

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I joined was writing and expecting to earn from it. My advice would be only to write for enjoyment or if you have something unique to bring to the table.

Until you have built a following it is unlikely you will get much interaction or votes on anything that you put out there. My advice would be to follow active people in the genre that you like and engage with them where you can. That way when you do post there will be hopefully be people following you that appreciate the work you do.

Joining asher curation and engagement league also has prizes if you are commenting a lot. I was earning a lot more from commenting than I was for posting for a long time on here. Also it's worth using @dustsweeper as votes under a certain amount don't get paid out so with this you won't miss out on any steem.

I am not expecting to earn from it for a while. It could help me with education.
I should properly follow people who post coaching stuff hehe good call ^^

I will check asher league out when I am home. Haven't heard of it before now and I do a lot of commenting :D
I have some value in dustsweeper already :D

I just power up everything for now. I'm looking at the long term prospects of STEEM rather than trying to earn right now. I see so much potential on the blockchain that i think it will be very valuable in a few years time.

May the force be with you on that journey. 😁

My goal is to get to dolphin status within the next six months. Thats 5000SP by the first of May.

Check back in around then. We can see how much i missed by....
I like to have targets even if they are aiming high.

How did your birthday celebration with your mate go?

It went really well thanks.
I went down on the Friday evening for a few quiet drinks with him but the main event was on Saturday. It was mainly because we got a lot of our old school crowd together who we don't see too often. There would be a few that i would still be very good friends with but the rest i haven't seen in years. Like most people i would guess.
My best mate is actually turning thirty this week so have another good one lined up. He is a bit fancy though so it is a trip abroad.
