It has been a rough week or so. With the weather starting to get nicer, it is the worst time for my truck to be dead. @mrsbozz and I have a lot of projects around the house that require me to pick stuff up in my truck. Until we get that situation sorted out, we are kind of dead in the water. All of that plus the end of the school year approaching makes it hard for me to focus.

I feel like I need to channel my dog Jovi... I love this picture because to me it screams "focus" and "determination". I have no doubt she was watching a squirrel play or someone was walking their dog through the campground when this picture was taken.

I really feel like we all need a little more of that focus right now. The price of Steem is down (what else is new), that might be a small fraction of what has me unfocused, but I don't think it is that big of a factor. The price will come back, I am pretty positive of that.

I did some browsing in the "New" section of Steemit the other day. It is the first time I have been over that way in a while. It appeared to be mostly people sharing their Drug Wars fights, links to articles on Dlike, or a post about their Twitter feed. I think that is great that they are trying to integrate the two platforms. It would be cooler if they were posting their Steemit feed on Twitter though. Most people here already know about Twitter and either love it or hate it for whatever reason. There are still so many people that don't know about Steem.

Instead of that laser focus, I feel more like this. If I could be in my chair around the campfire right now taking a nap in the sun, I totally would. I just can't seem to find any motivation... I think this is something I have been struggling with for a couple of months now. If someone could honestly say when things would turn around, I think we could all handle that. If they said, not for another six months, it would suck, but we would all power through to reach that endpoint.

I've seen a lot of people up in arms over the "downvote" button. While I agree with the reasoning that changing the name from Flagging (which was made to dispute rewards) to downvoting it kind of changes the meaning of the action. In the end, I don't think it is going to have a huge impact on Steem or Steemit. I did receive my first downvote/flag ever on this platform the other day, but it was pretty insignificant, so I didn't worry about it too much.

How about you? What have you been doing to keep motivated and active on Steem as a whole during the continued doldrums of "thirty cent land" (that sounds like a good title for a @steevc song).

My apologies if this comes across as a "crap post". I feel like I am entitled to one or two now and then though. I work hard to put out pretty great content that can appeal to a large number of Steemians. If you got nothing else from this, at least there are some cute pictures of my dog...
