RE: Market Friday: Market for Chinese New Year at Amarin Plaza, ตลาดนัดปีใหม่จีนที่ อัมรินทร์พลาซ่า

in #busy5 years ago

How wonderful this Chinese New Year has been and the decorations are gorgeous!

There is so much food in this place, I am always amazed to see it in such abundance! Such opulent displays of seafood and barbequed food. Does it amaze you as much as me or are you used to it?

Oh!! Chi Chi Sticks!! Did you ask about your future fortune?? I would have been tempted to do so! I love little traditions and did that at the Chinese Lantern Festival that I went to. :) I got a good fortune, so I was happy! :)

I loved those young naked coconuts. What did he put in them? And the pomegranates... oh, those looked lovely. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful post with us! I had a wonderful time perusing it. You did a wonderful job putting the post together and taking great photographs!

Thank you so much and thank you for posting in the #MarketFriday tag!

Thank you very much for your tip and very nice comment.

Seafood is easily found here as the south of Thailand is surrounded by the sea! We even have imported seafood from other countries including from Alaska! The price of fresh seafood is much cheaper when you go to seaside towns! Just walk into the morning market and they will grill fish or prawns for you straight away. My friends from the south of Thailand often brought her own fresh fish in her ice box, for cooking in her Bangkok house!

If you are interested in Chi Chi sticks, I know three places where the predictions are always spot on! Some people would flock to these places during the new year to ask about their health, wealth and work situation for the new year and for potential dangers to be watchful of this year.

The coconut is quite different from the normal exported coconuts. These are smaller coconuts which have be roasted in a charcoal heap. Then people would shave off all the husk and crack the top for coconut milk and spooning out the steamed coconut meat. What you see is the naked cooked or steamed coconut meat, he’s making it too easy for people to eat this stuff! So, you could just pierce a straw through the soft meat to drink the juice! This is my favourite kind of coconut!

Your tag has attracted all kinds of markets from around the world. Good job!!

Thanks for all your support!
Cheers.
