Over 100k but Out of Top 10! The Partiko Grind

Many have come to know my persistent efforts to actively engage across the ecosystem. As I have continued to learn and participate with the community, the benefits of my actions have come in many ways. From learning about new people I meet to, of course, the follows we get to continue our community building. I started this journey only knowing about the Steemit Dapp and it wasn’t until late last year that I discovered @partiko. This was a blessing as most of the time I am away from my computer and am limited to my smartphone for staying connected to the ecosystem.

I immediately started to engage across the community with the new front-end Dapp and found its interface to not only to be user friendly but fast and reliable. as I continued to explore the application, I quickly found the concept of the point system. I have always been a fan of measuring my progress with numbers so I was excited to see a system where I can track my engagement with points. Even better, was the fact that I can use those points to help me achieve my goal of accumulating more Steem over time!

However, overtime I started to see my points accrue much quicker than I had expected given that the application was allowing me to engage even more given its benefits. Therefore, I started to gauge the fact that I was going to be able to enter their leaderboards before I even thought it was possible. At the time, to be in the top 20 we needed over 40,000 points so it was quite the challenge thinking of those numbers. However, over time they continue to add ways to earn points in order to benefit the community that they have continued to build.

As I entered the top 20 leaderboard I felt the urge to keep going and challenge myself to a top 10 position on the leaderboard. I thought that with 100,000 points I would be able to be comfortably in the top 10. However, @partiko continued to evolve in how it provides points for referring users to the platform in addition to getting points for the engagement of those friends you invite. This has brought a number of new users to the platform and the dozens which has meant that many active members in the community have been able to benefit from these referrals. Despite myself being active on the introduction posts, I do not compete for these referrals as my focus is more on the onboarding of new users. However, I am glad that these new user users are finding Partiko the best place to remain active given the community that is great.

The way the development team continues to develop the application is what I believe will be the main driver of growth for the ecosystem over time; ease-of-use and interface will lead to more engagement and community building on the platform. While there continue to be differences between the operating system versions, the development team continues to remain committed to deploy all features across their platforms. For example, the iOS versions are still missing two key features. First, we still do not have the messaging application between users. This would be great as it provides the abilities for relationships to grow even further without meeting to go and use other platforms like discord or steam chat. Second, and the most recent, users can now view ads and also obtain points. This is great as it provides many new and small users a way to accumulate points quick enough to build their Steem Power. It also lays the groundwork for what I believe blockchain technology can leverage in a social networking community which is our attention. Attention is very valuable and the digital ecosystem we live in today. Partiko is pioneering a way to reward its users while also monetizing its technology.

They were one of the first to create this loyalty type reward system which allows users to convert points into Steem. We recently saw how @actifit has also done the same with a very attractive offering. While I am still holding on to these points and tokens, I believe it will be a fundamental driver of user growth on the platform given the opportunity to engage with great Dapps. I wonder if a token like system is also in the works for this great platform. I would not be surprise as they continue to innovate and engage their community and been one of the fastest growing Dapps in the ecosystem.

This has left me in a position where as despite achieving my goal of over 100,000 points, my position on the leaderboard‘s continue to drop. However, I am still encouraged to engage actively with the community and accumulate more points as for me the reward is truly the creation of relationships and community that I have achieved over the last couple of months. Steem continues to grow in value (and as of late in price as well), which encourages me to continue my trend of leveraging always to accumulate as much Steem power as I can. Potentially, I will be looking to use my points in an effort to further my growth as I have a long way to go to my goal of becoming an Orca.
