Steem Needs A Good Deed Token

One of the most powerful aspect of cryptocurrency is the ability to give people incentive for certain behaviors. I guess you can say money was always used in that regard. However, the results, when looking at society, is something that we might not be totally proud of.

We see a world full of negativity and selfishness. Even on Steem, there are mechanisms that make selfish behavior more profitable than non. There is no need to delve into all of them since most everyone is aware. This situation is compounded since all of us are reared in a system that teaches us to "look out for number 1" and "fight for all we can".

The gist of this is that people are often rewarded more for unkind and harsh behavior. It is esteemed, rewarded, and valued.

Part of the magic of cryptocurrency is the ability to radically alter facets of society. It is a way we can start encouraging people to move in another direction.

Thus, I think we need a token that is designed for no other reason than for large scale distribution for doing good deeds. We start to provide incentive for good, rather than bad, behavior. Call it Love or Compassion token.

There are many acts that go unrewarded. With an ecosystem like Steem, we can use posts as proof of the deeds done. Volunteer at a homeless shelter, earn tokens; spend time teaching someone how to read, earn tokens; help an old lady with her groceries, earn tokens.

This could be done to provide incentive to people to clean up their neighborhoods. Provide tokens for picking up garbage, washing windows, and trimming the foliage that grew.

Token distribution could be done through either direct transaction or upvoting. All good deeds get rewarded they say, let's make that true. Heck, call it the Heaven token. We start to create it on earth, one deed at a time.

This could be used to support youth programs in crime ridden areas. Or we can look at the third world nations. People in these areas are mostly taught hate and suffering. There is a lot that goes into just survival. Financially rewarding positive behavior can help to offset the present system that causes so much crime and misery.

I know we have a few different projects that are focusing upon certain activities and providing incentive. However, we can scale it up. Consider the idea of a global currency that is just used to reward good actions.

Instead of extra credit or gold stars in school, one would get a token. Parents could reward children for doing extra chores around the house. Volunteering could receive an added benefit.

Let us turn people's attention towards good.

How would the world change if we had millions of people looking for good deeds to do? Each day people go out looking for opportunities to contribute. Instead of walking passed these, individuals will take the opportunity to help out. A simple photograph and tokens are earned.

It is time to start caring about other people. Since we are all indoctrinated into the mindset of fear, let us begin to change that. I believe a global token is the ideal solution.

"Get paid to be kind".

That has a nice ring to it.

Maybe set it up where the token cannot be bought. You cannot buy the Kind token because kindness cannot be bought. It is only for direct payments. Have no Kind tokens, maybe that is not someone to associate with.

Consider the possibilities. Global token for good deeds.
