There are people of both genders that do seem to thrive on being treated badly or treating others badly.

They tend to repeat the behavior too. Sometimes a nice guy or girl will try to win them away, and if they are successful, they usually get dumped for the next bad guy.

I don't get it either, but it's a thing.
