Michigan, Utah, and Missouri, All Say Yes To Cannabis

in #cannabis5 years ago

In the midterm elections this week, three more states have now decided to approve of cannabis legislation that makes way for either a recreational or medicinal market.

In Utah and Missouri, voters approved of medicinal cannabis use and in Michigan where they already have a medicinal market established, they've now approved of recreational cannabis use.

There was a chance for voters in North Dakota to approve of cannabis but they rejected the recreational cannabis proposal. The final vote was reportedly 59 to 41.

Critics in North Dakota reportedly rejected the cannabis proposal over worries that it would fuel a rise in new issues for society and law enforcement, despite us not having seen this to be the case in Colorado, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, and a myriad of other states that have approved of cannabis for either medicinal or recreational use.

Despite a majority of states now having approved of cannabis use for either medicinal or recreational purposes, the federal government still hasn't gotten around to changing things. If the federal government were to decriminalize or finally make way for lawful access, then it would make things a lot easier for the people who use cannabis medicinally that need to travel around the country. It would stop filling up prisons with peaceful individuals and making criminals where there aren't any.

There is cause for celebration however, when you think about how far we have come in the way of how much of the stigma has been eroded for so many because of the education that's taken place.

As you can see from the image above, support for cannabis legalization has continued to increase over the years.

Numerous stories have come out highlighting the potential benefits that individuals claim to have reaped as a result of their cannabis use, and people have seen it with their family and friends first-hand, that's no-doubt helped to persuade many individuals to reconsider why they are against this plant in the first place. It's better late than never for the government (and the people) to finally acknowledge the mistake that's been made and to admit that we are doing far more harm than good with our anti-drug policies.

So it has to be @doitvoluntarily since cannabis is medicinal this points to excellent results, interesting friend publication

@doitvoluntarily this is going in the right direction, thank you very much for sharing this important information
I wish you a great day

I was sure disappointed in the ND results. I did see in the county by county tally that the Fargo area won handily so that was encouraging. Bismarck area was opposite though and that surprised me having lived there I would have thought it would have had a better result.

this is excellent news, the use of medicinal cannabis is to have a better quality of life for those who suffer from an illness, this should be approved in all parts of the world

In my country, Canada, we can buy it legally now.

Cannabis is only useful if you take it within a certain limit. For medical use you can take it for sure but as a recreational thing i guess it will not be a wise decision. So some state is spot on with their decision but some state i think they taken a wrong decision.Bercause it is an addiction and all the people will not be able to control the use of Cannabis.Excessive use of cannabis will make harm to people. So think thrice before taking the decision.

you better do some serious research... cause right now, you don't know what you are talking about.

Are you a cannabis lover?

The substance is very unlikely to be the actual problem in a case of habitual and excessive cannabis use.
The person who, as you say would be damaged- is already in the process. Yes, some people will use excessively and do more harm to themselves than good. Nothing is Holy, all good and harmless in every sitiuation. NOTHING

But cannabis, kratom, akuamma, etc.. (regardless of parroted misinformation you might see / hear on mainstream news).. these do not legitimately meet the criteria that was carefully drafted to guide scheduling of substances that pose a imminent threat.

We cannot ban everything that someone might over use or abuse in some way. We cannot all stay in bed because some ass is going to do something stupid today that might throw one of us under the bus.

After I quit smoking weed, and cigarettes, I became a binge drinker. A drink before, during and after driving binger. And I drove long distances in a crowded city, often not remembering much of the night before. And while booze was a problem that could have easily killed me and others, that was not the
actual problem either.

You can criminalize anything and it will not change the fact that people have to use their own abilities to problem solve, prioritize, manage risks and start becoming considerate, functioning, potentially happy people who rely on ourselves and each other more than anything else, especially overzealous government regulation.

If society has a false perceptions that someeone else is responsible for this (they do), we end up with a society of irresponsible, incapable, superficial consumers that are conditiond by educated stupidity (we have).

The opinion of each person is respected, I believe that legalizing cannabis is good news because if there are health benefits with its correct use, it is welcome

Yes I am in Michigan and it has been a long journey. I can remember NORML fighting for this for ages. Of course it still cannot be used in public or in a vehicle.
