Cannabis is only useful if you take it within a certain limit.For medical use you can take it for sure but as a recreational thing i guess it will not be a wise decision.So some state is spot on with their decision but some state i think they taken a wrong decision.Bercause it is an addiction and all the people will not be able to control the use of Cannabis.Excessive use of cannabis will make harm to people.So think thrice before taking the decision.

The substance is very unlikely to be the actual problem in a case of habitual and excessive cannabis use.
The person who, as you say would be damaged- is already in the process. Yes, some people will use excessively and do more harm to themselves than good. Nothing is Holy, all good and harmless in every sitiuation. NOTHING
But cannabis, kratom, akuamma, etc.. (regardless of parroted misinformation you might see / hear on mainstream news).. these do not legitimately meet the criteria that was carefully drafted to guide scheduling of substances that pose a imminent threat.
We cannot ban everything that someone might over use or abuse in some way. We cannot all stay in bed because some ass is going to do something stupid today that might throw one of us under the bus.
After I quit smoking weed, and cigarettes, I became a binge drinker. A drink before, during and after driving binger. And I drove long distances in a crowded city, often not remembering much of the night before. And while booze was a problem that could have easily killed me and others, that was not the
actual problem either.
You can criminalize anything and it will not change the fact that people have to use their own abilities to problem solve, prioritize, manage risks and start becoming considerate, functioning, potentially happy people who rely on ourselves and each other more than anything else, especially overzealous government regulation.
If society has a false perceptions that someeone else is responsible for this (they do), we end up with a society of irresponsible, incapable, superficial consumers that are conditiond by educated stupidity (we have).
