STEEM Keeps Rolling! Here's Some Anti-FUD....
I has a notification pop up on my phone today that got me thinking...Big picture :)
A few days ago, Steemians were encouraged to go to Twitter and recommend to Coinbase that STEEM should be added.
Apparently Coinbase is considering 31 new tokens to add to their platform, but STEEM isn't among those chosen....Yet ;)
Today I got a response from someone on Twitter that made me look at how the general public views STEEM....
Ned has been missing for 9 days now and I truly hope he is o.k. However the news is spreading, and the silence is worrisome...To the general public!
That's what outsiders to the STEEM blockchain may feel like, but for those of us that live and breathe this stuff...
The 'dev' is alive and well!
I jumped into the trending section earlier this evening and found quite an exciting new post (and project) from @therealwolf
It's called SteemApps.com and you can check out the post about it here!
If you ever, for one second, doubt the excitement AND development on this currently here on the blockchain...Take a good look at this site...
We have thousands of active users that actually USE these apps...Daily!
Do we have millions upon millions of use cases yet? Nope, but we have a heck of a lot more than most crypto projects.
And that's the key right there....
While ICO's were all the rage in 2018, very few have actual use cases. Because heck, most aren't planned to be launched according to their roadmap for years to come...
Meanwhile....
Steem rolls along :)
We have the users!
We have the apps!
And we most definitely have the community.
I have no idea what the future of Steemit Inc will be. Does it fade off into the sunset or continue to develop this blockchain along with it's passionate community...I truly have no idea.
And we can't control what happens with that company.
Because like it was mentioned in numerous posts over the past week...
STEEM is NOT Steemit Inc!
We are a blockchain that thrives with community. Once this bear market starts to calm down a bit, you will see that as a driving factor for STEEM's growth. We survived 2018 with plenty of development and sure, it would be nice to be added to Coinbase...
But we don't need it!
What we need, we have right in front of us....Now it's time to let the world know how good it is here on a REAL blockchain with plenty of development and community support!

The silence out of Ned is not doing anyone any good. It would of been better if he didn't even start. He needs to seriously keep up with it. A simple weekly review or something will go a long way. Things accomplished etc

and yeah just a simple ‘hey i won’t make it’ would have done wonders. would have help ease a lot over the past week.

heck yeah, I mean he did it the first time and said it was going to be rescheduled I was fine with that shit happens lol but to just totally go dark like its been since he took over the company is blah. I want to buy like a ton more steem but honestly dpos and the way this place is run anymore is holding me back big time.
i don’t get it really. dude is in control of like 22 million tokens for one of the biggest ‘potential’ crypto projects in history. just say ‘hi’ every few days lol

I'm getting really tired of the ignorance of the outside world these days. :P If Facebook went bankrupt would it mean the end of the internet? It's the same thing here, one company does not a blockchain make. Besides, Steemit Inc is in no immediate danger to begin with, the core team is still intact. Sigh, I wish people would get their facts straight already.
Oh and @exyle did relay a msg from @andrarchy the other day saying they're just super busy re-organizing, nothing's happened with @ned or anything like that. The only thing suffering is communication on their part during these hectic times. I'm not justifying it or anything, it's just how things are.
it’s amazing. how many people still refer to steem as steemit. that’s the reality sadly. but hopefully the news is spreading. we are more than one company.

Yeah I agree, Jon. STEEM is NOT Steemit Inc. it keeps rolling because of the existing and maybe new dApps and of course because of the awesome community.

Big props to @cryptocurator for resteeming this or else I would probably have missed it.
The fud is everywhere yet we are still here authoring and engaging and using this blockchain for what it was intended. In the down times, I find the people who are dedicated and unflappable which is exactly the kind of person I look to add to my feed and support.
Awesome optimistic post filled with truth. I will check out steemsavvy for sure.

If STEEM will be list on coinbase then it will ge good for STEEM because as i was checked steem on coin base market it was below 50 project right now. It is sleepring downwards day by day. In this bear market all coin wirth going down but STEEM is loosing its position ad well. So if coinbase will list STEEM then might be steem will avain inder top 40 .

yeah, i'm getting really tired of ned's "now you see me, now you don't routine". each time we get suckered in thinking this time is different, he goes AWOL again
