@steemonboarding is a new multi-lingual marketing project designed to introduce content creators and curators to the Steem blockchain. WW is a new contest series aimed at discovering a handful of newcomers each Wednesday - and providing an overlap between experience levels across this growing crypto ecosystem.

Discover a Newb - Let’s face it, right now the blockchain is a tough place to be discovered and find your way. There’s a lot of empowering resources here to learn about, but it’s difficult to keep track of who knows what, when and where. With this ongoing contest we’re asking experienced Steemians to welcome newbies in the comment section, below. Here’s how to play:
- Write a short (2-3 sentence) introduction about a newbie you’ve discovered [rep of 49 or lower] in the comment section, below.
- Share a link to a recent “hello” or #introduceyourself style post by that same newcomer (this newbie link must have been published within the last 6 days). Please include it along with your short introduction.

Today, our curation team will browse the comment section of this post looking for inspiring and thoughtful newbies. This contest will last 24 hours. We’ll upvote the newcomer (their "hello" post that you link to, below). Pay it forward, share some upvote love with a blockchain newbie!

Just wanted to say that I am somewhat disappointed with the community on this as the engagement has declined here since the commentators no longer have the upvote incentive to introduce users. They are shortsighted in believing that upvotes now are worth more than motivating great users with potential to add value to our community and ecosystem. Please do not allow this behavior to consider no longer doing this weekly contest. Rant over.

Hi: This is a lovely and necessary initiative, I think. Necessary for the blockchain's growth, and very important for the Newbies that are discovered.
A few days ago I came across @inahson. He was a Rep 25 with maybe a few cents in his purse. I thought, maybe I can help this one person. So I commented, upvoted and resteemed his post (for greater visibility). Hope this encourages him. If he posts again, I will support him again--unless I don't like his post:)

@kuyakris is a new Steemians with an interesting background. The introduction was focused on his passion for music but also showed his experiences with gaming and programming. I actually discovered his blog from another post written about his journey with gaming and programming due to the fact that he wants to take his skills to develop blockchain and has already been a contributor to several. I think it is great to have developers onboarding on to our ecosystem with these capabilities!

Would have loved to give @kuyakris a vote because he seems like an awesome new member of our community! This post was 8 days old when the contest closed yesterday though. So just a little reminder to check the date on the post. 😊 I’m so glad to see he ended up getting some great support from the community anyway though!
