Team Malaysia | Teh Tarik Sundays EP15 | 05.08.2018 (Recap)
What is Teh Tarik Sundays?
It is the FIRST talkshow initiated by @branlee87 and @zord189 with the support from #teammalaysia witness & lead, @bitrocker2020 exclusively for #teammalaysia members to gain exposure for their posts.
Why Teh Tarik? Because its what we Malaysians drink at a mamak stall when we hang out with friends. Here is what is going to happen on Sunday Nights :
- Everyone is invited to join the Teh Tarik voice channel on Sundays at 10:00 pm.
- Everyone is given a chance to promote a post.
- You do not need to be the author of that post as you can promote your friend's post or a very interesting post for everyone to see.
- During your sharing, the post promoted will be shared in the Kopitiam channel for everyone to see. You will also get extra exposure. Your post may even be rewarded.
- Only the Moderators and Authors are allowed to speak in the voice channel. The listeners can and should engage in the Kopitiam Text Channel.
The Malaysian Guide
Teh Tarik - Directly translates into pulled tea. It is basically 'Hot Milk Tea' and the 'tarik', which means pulled gives the top of the milk tea some foam.
Kopitiam - 'kopi' which means coffee in Malay and 'tiam' which means shop in the Hokkien language. Kopitiam will be our text channel in discord.

It's always good to host the Teh Tarik Sundays show and this week, we're back with the usual. After the long week break last week, I've decided that Teh Tarik Sundays would definitely be better after much well rest. Before the good news, I have a slightly sad news to share with you guys. Unfortunately for Teh Tarik Sundays, @branlee87 will be taking a break from this show for awhile as he is adapting to his new work life and needs some time to prepare for work. He will be back but indefinitely as to when but I wish him all the best in his new job.
Being in the animation industry especially when you're in the company that creates blockbuster movies ain't easy and there are a lot of new experiences & skillsets to learn. If you miss him because I know I do, he is still around the 'Steemitsphere' doing what he does best, podcast. Go leave a comment on one of his daily podcasts and show him some love!~
Welcome @alvinauh as Host
I always love when #teammalaysia members are so supportive towards this initiative and one of them who has been supporting ever since this talk show took off is @alvinauh. He has been on Steemit almost the same time as me and he been very well involved in many initiatives and that means he is very experienced on Steemit. I'm glad and honoured that he is coming on this upcoming Teh Tarik Sundays to host the show with me. Thank you @alvinauh.
We also had a good chat with @danielwong about his Steemit journey and particularly how he went about adopting STEEM/SBD to his food business. It was something worth listening to because STEEM/SBD is the currency of the future, and any other cryptocurrency as well. @alvinauh and I spoked to @danielwong quite a bit about his burger joint and what inspired him to take on this role in pioneering the first ever Burger joint to accept STEEM/SBD.
The other Author who came right after was @joelai. @joelai spoke about her inspiration to draw, mainly to destress and she also spoke a little bit about @elegance, an app for Artist to post on the Steem Blockchain. @joelai started drawing when she was 4 years old and have continued on ever since. Never taking it professionally, she does it as a hobby during her spare time and finds comfort in it.
Our last Author for the night was the awesome dude, @denion who I've been wanting to get on the show for quite awhile now. He shared a heartfelt thanksgiving post about the fundraising that happened two months back initiated by @iamjadeline for his baby, En Xi. We talked about the baby's progress in the hospital and thank God the baby can be discharged soon. Indeed, a miracle.
