A couple of weeks back I attended a live auction which contained a large collection of comic books, statues, action figures, and other miscellaneous items. I will be doing a full write up soon on it...just been a busy few days.
In the meantime I wanted to share one of the pieces of Original Comic Book Art I was lucky to snag. This is a beautiful page from Action Comics #648 which came out in December of 1989. Its penciled by Kerry Gammill . It features Metallo, Lex Luther, & the man himself, Supes!! Really awesome piece and I’m extremely happy with what I paid for it.

Gammil was one of my favorites, just an amazing illustrator. For reasons I could never understand he never got the popularity of a Byrne or Perez. Even withstanding his lesser fans base...this being an action page with a major character and villian should be pretty costly (although it being in an auction is a wild card...early stuff at auctions can sometimes be gotten for a steal)...I will guess 350.00
Yeah the comic industry is odd in that who it promotes to stardom. I don’t get it either. Plenty of amazing talent that never really got the recognition they deserved. That’s life I guess.
