What If Your CPS Worker Isn't A CPS Worker

in #cps5 years ago

Having a Child Protective Services worker come to your residence and confiscate your children can be a terrifying experience for any parent. Even more terrifying is if you find out later on that the individual wasn't a CPS worker at all, only that they were posing as one so that they could try to kidnap your children.

One woman in Vegas recently tried to allegedly pose as a CPS worker in an attempt to kidnap a 3 week old baby.

She was even so bold (or foolish) enough to involve the police; contacting them to try and use them as an escort to carryout her crime.

The woman in question had allegedly contacted the police and claimed that she was a CPS worker, she asked for the police to assist her with an emergency pickup of the 3 week old baby.

The officers did turn up at the location where she then had allegedly given them paperwork, but they later determined that paperwork wasn't legitimate.

Thankfully, the police that she had contacted noticed that the paperwork didn't appear to be legitimate, it's also reported that she didn't have the proper identification and was traveling in a stolen vehicle, consequently she wasn't able to be successful in kidnapping the child.

Target Selection Through Social Media...

The parents had allegedly spoken with the woman at some point on social media, where they had reportedly discussed the topic of purchasing newborn clothing.

The woman that attempted to seal their child had been able to learn information about the baby thanks to the social media accounts of the parents' and what they posed online, as well as finding out information from communicating with them directly.

The woman in question was eventually arrested and she is facing charges of forgery, attempted kidnapping, possession of a stolen vehicle, and more.

CPS workers are given identification when hired and are supposed to readily provide that information to families that they are tasked to work with. The card that they are given details their name, a picture, and the title of their position.

Amazing the lengths folks will take to be evil. Yes one needs to be safe and smart to protect themselves from ALL scams real or impostored. The CPS is already a scam in and of itself. Asking for a warrant is a good safe guard as is not answering the door to strangers. Finally document everything through written or video camera. Thanks for sharing and be safe out there.

What a nightmare!

Could you imagine being desperate or foolish enough to put this plan together, think it would work, and go through with it?

Unbelievable!

This is what scares me about people putting kids pics and info on social media. Yikes!

Scary isn't it? It's stories like this that just raise the hair on the back of my neck. Social media is a wonderful tool, but it is things like this that makes me want to delete all of my accounts. It has gotten to the point where people don't even know how to use it responsibly. The thing is that if you want to give out information about your personal life and everything else to strangers just go ahead and print it in the newspaper. You might as well. I don't put down if I'm married or not if I have kids or not. It's really not the place to do it. As you can see even innocent conversations are used to glean information. How unfortunate that we live in a world like this.

That's an incredibly brazen crime... to kidnap an infant and bring the police with you! Unreal...

Really surprised the officers caught that one ...good thing

What a nightmare! Thank God this predator hadn't allied with some corrupt cop, or hell would have been paid in full.

Thanks!

Damn, the baddies are getting more bold and daring. The whole bad op seems pretty organised too.
