Good morning, it's great to hear that we won, but I'm not quite sure exactly 'what' I won?
I did do a search on Steemit and found this, Steem Basic Income - Frequently Asked Questions, but it's still not clear where exactly I'd see a difference.

SBI is a social experiment here on Steemit to provide a basic income, but in a pay it forward way.
The share entitles both the sponsor and the person being sponsored to an upvote for life on every post they produce.
The more SBI shares you accumulate the larger that upvote will be...
You are able to purchase these share at 1 Steem each a sponsor some of your choice, too! So for example if you sponsored 100 different people you would receive up-votes to the values of 100 shares.
In your case yo just won your first share and should get and upvotes from SBI bot in the next few days... Hopefully you accumulate many many more shares.
So go and say Hi to @andrewharland, @thedarkhorse and @wolfhart - These are good guys and will aid your development on Steemit 100 fold. I'm not going anywhere either so keep those questions coming...
You may want to consider Setting @thedarkhorse as a proxy for selecting your witnesses, which is something I've done. In this way we vote for the same witnesses as he does. This helps get the 'proper' witnesses in place.

I almost quit my first blog site a couple times, due to the nastiness that was there... with the exception of some very close friends I would have left. Then the site closed down permanently about ten months ago.
My second site was an temporary place to post until I found something better... luck brought me here and I couldn't be happier... Thank you

We talked the other day, in the discord, about post promotion and I meant to do it... but, well... there's so much to learn here I keep falling into Rabbit Holes where ever I turn. :)
I don't mind, it's my nature to thoroughly research the things that interest me.
