Eureka Machines 'Revolution' music video
Yesterday I posted about filming with my long standing partners in rock Eureka Machines
Well, 24 hours on, the music video I filmed yesterday is OUT now :)
I worked deep in to the night (well, 11pm, hardcore) to get the edit underway from the afternoon of filming.
This morning at 8am I picked up the edit and finished it around 3pm - which is 24 hours on from filming.
I’m pleased with the outcome - a cheap and cheerful stripped back performance to a song which I really love. It’s called Revolution and it’s a hook and a half.
I shot on one camera, in a rehearsal studio space with a bunch of lights and a bunch of silly angles in mind to make it as claustrophobic as we could.
The reception of the video today across the usual social channels has been great. Ace.
Go and catch the Eureka Machines on their April tour across some venues in the UK. Well worth a night out.

So glad that energy comes across. Even with a stripped back setup of lights and handheld camera with not much plan - sometimes the good things happen when the elements are just right for it to be captured.

Impressive and masterful work @ashtv - not sure how you managed to do that so fast! Very dedicated work and looks great. I don’t know if I’m right in saying this but it must be difficult syncing audio and visuals to get it so precise. Cool track.

Very kind words @cryptocurator -it was indeed a fast turn around; I don’t get many of those requests but happy to attempt it if I have the flexibility of time.
The sync is really straightforward, as along as the performance is bang on.
I try to keep a keen eye to re-take any moments that weren’t on par or we’re out of time etc.
They’re a great band to collaborate with - as is our 11 year history a testament to that!

Thanks dude! It’s a bit rough and ready but it I think it captures the fun! To edit this?... I guess it was realistically only about 5-6 hours condensed of importing, lining up, cutting, then refining the edit.
I’m my house I rarely get a solid 5-6 uninterrupted hours, so that time is spread over a day in small sections of focussed work.

wow this must have been a crazy shoot :) in some of the pullbacks i was wondering where the f was he standing :D
I really like the pace of it, and even the focus search looks good (tell me it was on auto :) ).
Ha, yeah that’s nice element of its unpredictability I guess!
It was manual focus the whole time. I’ve never liked auto focus unless it’s needed. The aim is never to make it pin sharp on everything on a video like this.
There was some moments of lens-whacking where I remove the lens from the body and it produced cool lens flares. Also the focal plane goes side ways instead of from to back. I like that effects and focus mess it brings!
