I am beginning to think the same as well!
when i sing only, I can change my voice to high or low following the music/song playing
but when i play AND sing, it's like I cannot really adjust my voice to the tune am playing, it's either too low or too high. but also i am relying on paper sheet i got from the net, not yet know how to write my own for chords, so that the song would suit me better lol
