You shootin' at me?Yes, I said gunshots. At least it sounds like there are two of them in the first 6 seconds of the video. Hunting is certainly not allowed at the park. Well, no one seemed to react and I was too focused on recording anyway.
A monster walking on the water!Sometimes when I'm filming I'll meet random strangers. In this part of the video, a woman is chatting me up about the polluted history of this lake. Then she starts listing people that have died of cancer. Including her husband. Talk about awkward. I have to laugh at my clearly nervous responses. I didn't want to sound dismissive, but I really just wanted to record some video.
Pucker up, lover boy!Fortunately, I was saved when she noticed a dead fish by the shoreline. That's when I noticed an even bigger dead fish just a couple of feet away from me. I was so focused on my video, I could have easily stepped on it. Yuck. There it is, staring at me.
Serenity now!Finally, some peace and quiet. Well, except for the friendly pit bull you hear snorting and splashing in the water. This was the time I met a British dude while filming. At the very end I tacked on a super slow-motion shot. And, this time, I remembered to mute the audio @brisby 😂

What cracks me up about the 'gunshot' sounds is that they didn't phase the geese. They just carried on dipping their heads. I wonder if they're either used to it or if they're so badass that they're like, "Whatever." (I've seen some geese charge people before so I've learned not to piss off these birds.)
I feel for you just wanting to have some peace while filming. Especially when she brought up people who had died from cancer. It's sad and we can empathize but really - what are you supposed to say to a complete stranger aside from, "I'm sorry to hear that."? (It sounds like the geese flying overhead were trying to help you out by honking while she was talking.)
Good thing you didn't step on the dead fish. You'd have smelled it for a week. 🤢 (I know it's just my doofy brain but the fish's face had me thinking of the 'filet o' fish' jingle. 😆)
I love the part with the goose gliding along the surface of the water. It's so peaceful and it has me wanting to visit the lake to relax and watch them today. I remember your post with the dog and the tire. That pitbull was so cute and I'm still impressed she drags those tires out of the water.
Being able to see the gorgeous wingspan of the goose as it rose up from the water was a treat. It gives us more time to appreciate the graceful movement and the shimmer from the light on the under feathers.
Damn! Now I'll have to go somewhere else for my slow-mo audio fix. 😜👊
Yeah I've seen geese charge people too. That's what I was thinking in my other post where that family was feeding them. If those geese got angry, they were in trouble. 😲
Yeah, those geese were honking loudly. hahaha. And, of course, I had the same thought when looking at the fish. Jinx. 👉

All of these things could only happen to you Omra. LOL! I heard the gun shots too. Couldn't you smell the dead fish before you saw them? I wonder what killed them. Loved the video and the reflection of the goose in the water at the end and the slow-mo at the end. I do remember seeing that dog rip apart a tire a while back. Crazy!
