Well said re. data! Such a SIMPLE thing, but FNCK it really does feel like mission bloody impossible. I am struggling enormously to try and convince members of a FB blogging group to even EXPLORE the #steem blockchain! Out of every 50 direct messages I send to bloggers, I get perhaps one "maybe"...
They don't know what it is, they are MORE suspicious of a people driven future than a monopoly driven one... go figure. It is almost like you literally have to coax them with cookies toward the food bowl and then forcefully shove their head into the soup so they can experience the taste first hand - be it unwillingly.

That is SO true! Applicable in so many facets of life too... business in particular. I found this often in the production industry... It never ceased to amaze me how things were always "too much effort" or "not possible" according to certain individuals, until they realised that I would light the cracker up their arse for them if they didn't get up and make it happen voluntarily. haha :)
It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized how much data (centralized) platforms, such as Facebook, mine from their users.. And it's probable that we don't even know the half of it!
Although users agree to the 'terms and conditions' provided by the platform host, they are never truly compensated for the value they provide.
Decentralized 'platforms' such as STEEM, are definitely a step in the right direction, rewarding users for their contributions. Rewarding #attention is a world I want to one day live in...

HI Dan, anything that is centralized is more efficient. This efficiency is appropriate for business, but NOT appropriate for government. This sounds counter intuitive, but the main argument for me is too many people see the government as a nanny. Instead of UBI: I would support eliminating the Federal Reserve cartel. They are the lynchpin to ALL of our problems, because they control everything. Question: is their a crypto/ blockchain/ currency sharing platform that could allow investors/ users/ to share the common interests payments?
#EndTheFed - with you there! I see centralization losing to decentralization. The reason is because decentralization offers more money to users than the other. Think of how rich Mark Z is. That only happens in centralized systems where the user gets jack shit. Companies like Brave are taking on Google by paying people to watch ads. You can't compete with that. Also, there are degrees to decentralization just like there are with cooking. You want it right in the middle. Pure centralization is like burnt steak, don't leave much for the users. Pure decentralization is like raw steak, some pyschos like it but the masses don't. Get it nice and pink in the middle, censorship resistance and sovereignty of data are what the goal should be.
UBI is a dream for many, but a reality for me and others on steem. @steembasicincome is the main ubi of steem. @josephsavage is one of my main heroes here for dreaming this up and making it work.
I have over 350 shares of sbi on my three blogs now and hunt for more daily. I usually get at least 5-10 more shares each week. When the price of steem goes up, my many upvotes from this project go up too. I thank God I got into this early and that there are so many people giving shares away every day.
And I have at least 5 other, smaller shares in other ubi steem projects, which also vote my every post.
On top of that I have manna and swiftdemand crypto ubi directly because of steem. The manna is uncertain, but the swiftdemand I can already spend.
This life I am leading is a complete 100% miracle and as crypto mainstreams, everything is only going to get better. Just let me keep blogging like a fiend!
Thanks for the mention! Steem Basic Income was designed to be a 100% voluntary crowdfunded basic income. Since it's self/crowd funded, it started out pretty small but has good momentum.
Arguably it's not universal since every subscription has to be sponsored by somebody, but there are ~4800 active Steemians receiving regular upvotes at least once per month, and more often when their subscription level is high enough. Two thirds of those are fully sponsored by somebody else (receiving upvotes without having paid anything to enroll).
I whole-heartedly agree. It does not exist without patrons who recognize value to pledge STEEM to people who deserve it. It does not exist without people contributing for the upvotes. It's not UBI.

We need a completely decentralized system of all social media. Censorship can not be tolerated. This is how people communicate now. We have finally come to a point in history where everyone has a voice no matter what their station in life is. It's so sad, there are those among us who wish to silence those voices.
I think so most of the people who is just SOCIAL insects they are not aware about what is privacy. They just want to click more and more pic . They just want to upload it on their profile to look COOL what kind of FOOL they are.
The power is giving by a public to this centralised platform and this big billion platform they are mis using of it. But people are not understanding it .
Money is what will draw people clueless to the dangers of centralization. The attention economy will come swiftly, and the competition for awareness will become fierce. People will migrate to places that pay the most.
People don't really concentrate on the decentralized part of the blockchain which I believe most are still lacking more awareness and proper information. Thanks for sharing with us the universal basic income and how to have it. Knowledge contained.
The oil, gold or whatever would need to come from land owned by someone. In a hypothetical situation where it comes from the sky like rain, then all would benefit freely. If it comes out of the earth someone owns it. Prob not the answer you were looking for as I think you are getting at something else. Cheers!
