I would only note that what is being enforced in first world countries is consumerism and usurious economics. We are pretty well free to say and do anything as long as we buy into this system. The mass profiling outcome was best predicted in Minority Report in that regard.
I agree that the monetary system and its sustenance is the lever of oppressive power. While the States are still doing rather well in terms of free speech, the EU & UK are quickly crumbling. Minority Report was, in my opinion, an exercise in predictive programming. The expert systems to predict crime are already up and running. People have had their doors knocked on and been warned by the police because the computer said they were a risk. It is getting seriously creepy.
