RE: April 12 th. #featheredfriday - Drugs can hurt.

in #esteem5 years ago

You had a little snow shower, and we up here in Alaska a little rain shower, spring is here for us all I think, that time of year when the weather goes bonkers, as people start to go bonkers from being able to get out, then being chased by the weather back in. At least you are getting some robins and birds around.

I hate pain pills. One of the lucky ones in that I can not take them for more than a few days at home because of stomach issues so I have had to try to just deal with/live with the pain. I hate getting older, well maybe not really hate it, I just was not prepared for some issues associated with it.

Sorry to hear you are having a difficult pain time. I know I am not looking forward to next Friday, that is when a doctor is going to tell me how long I have before I need a hip replacement surgery, and my bedroom is up stairs, so lots on the plate to come.

Almost two and a half years after my Lung Surgery, I finally got a doctor to send a referral to a nerve specialist to see if they can do something about the constant pain at the back scar area. Having a patient wife helps a lot with pain crap.

I haven't been following real close, did you need chemo, and how is the prognosis going for you?

Sort:

Yes I had 6 rounds of chemo. Small cell advanced cancer. Small cell responds well to chemo. They expect the cancer to come back quickly and the longer it is put off the better. Our recovery is beyond expectation.

Chronic pain is a terrible thing. It is a life changer.
I don’t take pain pills per say. The pain has to put me on the floor before I do. The side effects take a toll on me
Going up stairs has to be brutal.
I hope things get easier for you, especially with the new apointment.

I like to look on the cheerier side of things, so I always hope for the best, then deal with what gets dealt to me. It is kind of funny the bit you said about pain put you on the floor before taking pills, that is what happens to me if I take them for to many days. Funny how we all react a little different to pain, most people don't understand that, I know the so called doctors don't understand it, they have joined the one size fits all club it seems.

Actually so far so good on the stairs and walking, I am hoping that I can put any surgeries off for at least two years or more.

Keep on the positive side and try to keep a good outlook. There is always a chance for recurrence, but a chance means that there is also a chance it won't recur.

100 % is more then a chance of recurring, but my goal is to push it as far down the road as possible . Right now I am ahead of the game. You can’t ask for or beat that.
I will go farther then the average SCLC advanced, if that is not a plus I don’t know what that is then.
I am hopping my body developing an anti body. Talk about hitting the lottery. Hahaha. Here we go
