April 12 th. #featheredfriday - Drugs can hurt.

in #esteem5 years ago

I am not feeling well. I think it is because I stopped taking the pain pills today. They are very powerful and once they have a hold on you they don’t like to let go. Withdraws would be what they call it. Withdraws are hard to beat or should I say addiction.
I slept most of the day on and off. I have a headache that will not quit . But then again I could have the flue. But I don’t think so . When you take that many Narco in a short period of time there will be repercussions. A price to pay.
There is just a small detail between a drug that can help or be determental to our health. We must be diligent and so carful.

My entry to #featheredfriday. Its the middle of April and we got some snow. It is not unusual. I have seen snow in April many times before. Climate Change. : )

Why is it that people refuse to give vaccines to there children but will not hesitate to give them Drugs ? 🤔 Just an observation.

Sort:

You had a little snow shower, and we up here in Alaska a little rain shower, spring is here for us all I think, that time of year when the weather goes bonkers, as people start to go bonkers from being able to get out, then being chased by the weather back in. At least you are getting some robins and birds around.

I hate pain pills. One of the lucky ones in that I can not take them for more than a few days at home because of stomach issues so I have had to try to just deal with/live with the pain. I hate getting older, well maybe not really hate it, I just was not prepared for some issues associated with it.

Sorry to hear you are having a difficult pain time. I know I am not looking forward to next Friday, that is when a doctor is going to tell me how long I have before I need a hip replacement surgery, and my bedroom is up stairs, so lots on the plate to come.

Almost two and a half years after my Lung Surgery, I finally got a doctor to send a referral to a nerve specialist to see if they can do something about the constant pain at the back scar area. Having a patient wife helps a lot with pain crap.

I haven't been following real close, did you need chemo, and how is the prognosis going for you?

Yes I had 6 rounds of chemo. Small cell advanced cancer. Small cell responds well to chemo. They expect the cancer to come back quickly and the longer it is put off the better. Our recovery is beyond expectation.

Chronic pain is a terrible thing. It is a life changer.
I don’t take pain pills per say. The pain has to put me on the floor before I do. The side effects take a toll on me
Going up stairs has to be brutal.
I hope things get easier for you, especially with the new apointment.

I like to look on the cheerier side of things, so I always hope for the best, then deal with what gets dealt to me. It is kind of funny the bit you said about pain put you on the floor before taking pills, that is what happens to me if I take them for to many days. Funny how we all react a little different to pain, most people don't understand that, I know the so called doctors don't understand it, they have joined the one size fits all club it seems.

Actually so far so good on the stairs and walking, I am hoping that I can put any surgeries off for at least two years or more.

Keep on the positive side and try to keep a good outlook. There is always a chance for recurrence, but a chance means that there is also a chance it won't recur.

100 % is more then a chance of recurring, but my goal is to push it as far down the road as possible . Right now I am ahead of the game. You can’t ask for or beat that.
I will go farther then the average SCLC advanced, if that is not a plus I don’t know what that is then.
I am hopping my body developing an anti body. Talk about hitting the lottery. Hahaha. Here we go

He is cute .... or than maybe is a she!!! Not feeling well that was expected I am curious is it the same feeling or different I kinda guessed that the body knows the reactions by now and changed reacting! Well I hope it changes for the better within hours.
Talk to you later
Hugs for the mrs

Its the same and a little different. Its not as bad. I think when I stopped the pain pills it had a negative effect.
I am staggering around . I am doing my best not to get back into that wheelchair.
It will take a couple more days before I will be able to seen or feel the effect.
I am a little surprised I an not screaming in pain yet. And no pain in my rib cage.

I slept all night and day. It was rough. Hahaha

Everyday a little bit better

Yes every day is better.
Every day a little further down the road

My kids don't get either if i can help it. Luckily they are healthy. And, now my daughter is on her own so it will be interesting to see how they take care of themselves as they fly the coup. Love the bird pic. Calgary got snow yesterday but i am 45 min east of the city and we got none. The drug withdrawl is intense. Only lasted a few days for me. Cannabis helped alot with the withdrawl. I was on hydromorph for 20 days before i quit cold turkey. That shit is so addicting. Great to see a post from you today @wolfhart i can really sense you're feelings of overwhelm at this stage ❤🙏❤

Drug addiction is a battle. I should have weened off of them. Once in a while it gets away from you. Pain is a terrible thing. We all handle it in different ways.
Not getting the snow is a good thing.
I have to sleep sorry

I hope you have slept very well. So much to say about good restful healing nourishing sleep! I totally agree addiction is a slippery slope especially because chronic pain is such a beast. I had everyone around me encouraging me to use the little yellow pills as much as i needed. When on them, i never felt 'high' or buzzed either. Just felt so good man. Looking back it's very clear how mind altering they were. I made many poor choices while on them when i was the most vulnerable. But, it all felt good & normal at the time. Icarumba! Luckily, no one got hurt. Big topic for discussion for sure. ❤🙏❤

I agree
Pain pills are mind altering. You will do things the you would not do or decisions . I have doctors telling be to take the pills on a continuous basis. They do have a point but it has to apply to the moment
I did sleep well

That Robin looks cold and all puffed up! Hope you are feeling much better by now, since this was 5 days ago!

LOL that Robin was cold. It was cold 🥶 and snowing 🌨. They all found a place to hide from the weather providing shelter

The north wind doth blow,
And we shall have snow,
And what will poor Robin do then?
Poor thing.
He’ll sit in a barn,
And keep himself warm,
And hide his head under his wing,
Poor thing.

A nursery rhyme I learned as a child!

I don’t think I heard that one.
I do like it

I think it is an old one I learned from my Grandma!

Hahaha I would not worrie about it.
Like I said it happens all the time : )

I don't think you all kind of Drugs when You already A drugwar lord @wolfhart 😉 but I do understand why you don't like it. I really wish it wouldn't hurt you so much.. but it does😢

Even if You were once a well trained marine who must have a decent ability to maintain the pain, in case you're became a hostage of the enemy ... (that's what I watched in the movie), but you are only human, an exception 1%!

Hang on there... and keep your eyes open for the birds😉

Marine ! Marine !!!! Them damn wimps. Candy asses

I don’t like the side effects. When you stop taking them then its the withdraws. Right now my bones hurt like aa toothache. It does get worse. These are small things that I will deal with. I am not worried about them. It what I don’t know that worries me or concerns me. May 7th is the CT scan. That will give me more information. But we are overall doing very well. Very well.
Don’t sweat the small stuff ; )

Dear @wolfhart,

You can tip off the side effects- aka withdrawal symptoms by taking the drugs when you feel that your pain is very much intolerable. Yes. they might have a routine pain relievers for you but, you can opt to try other techniques like distracting yourself, deep breathing and, whatever you can come up first non pharmacologically speaking.

If you feel that you cannot take the pain anymore or, the pain is simply not going away, you can take them.

Because some vaccines simply are nasty like, for some children having severe side effects like fever, seizure and even death.

For the drugs, we can always (compute) the dose and, there is almost always an antidote out there. The vaccine- not so much because vaccines are simply "weakened" bugs or, concentration/by product of bugs which were introduced in your body to stimulate your body to produce immunity.

When I made the comment on vaccines, drugs. I was referring to the promsumtion . Drugs are Not challenged as vaccines are.
Drugs do have reactions that have caused death. Why demonize one and not the other .

When I say pain I mean pain. Not a hurt or ache. Pain by defernition is intolerable. It is long lasting.
I do not take Narco,s for short term or passing pain. What you are saying is true on an educational, practical level. It does not apply to my situation on any level because we are way beyond that level

I take painkillers on a daily basis - can't manage much without them - I sure hope things improve for you fast :o

I beleive as time goes on the bone infusion will be less painful 😖

Some say as long as you take them constant at the right dose they are benefiting for every day chronic pain. I can go three - four weeks without major pain then in the ER .
Everyone needs to be evaluated on an individual basis.
