Hope Dies Last !!!(2)

Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, of course!). This is a loved challenge and an example of how to initiate and support such a thing ... thanks to Denise.

This post is the second part of last week's posting.

About a Few Required Works in the Kitchen.

That's why I need materials, of course! A visit to Leroy Merlin becomes obligatory.

This is my market this week. Once again away from the classic market for me, the food market.

What should I buy now? I want to change the kitchen sink and also want to tackle with tile kitchen countertop. So the area of interest for this is the area with tiles and faience as well as the area with kitchen materials.

I have to buy adhesive for installing the tile on my old kitchen countertop.

I also visited the kitchen area to find some inspiration for what I was going to do.

The last item to buy, but not the latter, was a sink. That was my market, now I have to pay and get home quickly, to start transforming the kitchen.

Let's start work

This is the old sink to be changed. The countertop will be covered with a beautiful tile.

The new sink is smaller and has a different shape than the old one, it will be a pretty difficult problem to solve for me.

What has been harder has passed. The hardest thing was to dismantle the old sink and prepare the countertop. Always when I changed something in the home was hard to dismantle the old products.

And now I start the most beautiful and long-awaited part. Put the tile on the counter.

Okay, I'm done. It was almost a whole day of work.

I really like this tile!

Now I have to try the new countertop and the new sink. It's pretty late and I have not eaten anything all day (I have to say a secret, when I work I don't eat until I finish the job, otherwise I would not be able to do everything to the end). I'll cook something very fast!

Forest mushrooms (galbiori) with sour cream. Ciulama in Romanian.

Ingredients:

  1. 400 g mushrooms
  2. one onion
  3. sour cream
  4. sunflower oil
  5. hot water
  6. parsley

To my joy I found wild mushrooms at the supermarket. They are very tasty mushrooms, called in Romanian: galbiori. These mushrooms are only found in Romania, Bessarabia and North Bucovina in hardwood forests (under beech, oak).

Clean the onion and cut it into small pieces.

Put some sunflower oil in a saucepan and then put the onion on the fry. Add a little hot water to make the onions smoother.

I wash the mushrooms and then cut them into smaller pieces.

Here I have to make a statement and say a secret. My great pleasure when I cook is to drink something. Now I drink beer because it's hot and because I'm very tired after a long day of work.

Then put the mushrooms in the saucepan over the fried onion. Fry together and then add some warm water (... little).

After the mushrooms are boiled add sour cream and a little green (parsley).

This dish is eaten best with polenta!. Let's make a polenta.

Polenta is easy but needs a little bit of experience to do it. Add water to a pot, add corn flour and salt. Boil and mix the composition until it hardens but is boiled enough.

Dinner's Ready

With me, my wife also cooked. A bean soup with sour cream. The images below are with this soup. I noticed too late that I had not photographed the "ciulama" I made after I put it on the plates. Sorry!

That was all for today.

Denise, I hope you like it.
You said I'm the Romanian who cook that you appreciate most.
My question persists: There is another one?
Thank you!

Every time I post about food I remember a song I love enormously. From my time. I have to show it again.

OMGoodness, thanks a lot! I have not received such a comment so far. I'm glad you found something interesting for you. I also like to learn from my colleagues' posts. I love your graphics enormously and I want to thank you for befunky.com. Until now I was using Canva but befunky seems much easier to use.

You are amazing!

Thanks! It's the first time someone tells me like that. Because you're new here, I wish you great success and I hope you enjoy it.

lovely market and photos....have a good weekend @bluemoon

Thank you! I wish you the same!

I absolutely love the tiles of your kitchen and admire your skills! From handyman to cooking! Congrats!
PS: Love the music too!

You are very nice, as usual. Thank you!

Completely deserved!

Dismantling the kitchen is no small task and I cannot believe you did that all in one day! What a great handyman you are! Even a plumber. My admiration is thrown your way.

Oh, the tile came out so beautiful. The colors and patterns are like candy to the eye. Very nice! I hope that your wife was very happy with it. How could she not be? The job came out nicely, with all the grout lines in between very straight. What more can you ask for?

I like the smaller sinks, but, isn't it hard to scrub the big pots in a small sink? Or is that just in my own mind. Mine may be too deep, it doesn't have the nice, sleek look to it.

You really made the entire kitchen look brand new.

As for the cooking, my favorite ending to the good story! Oh, yummy! Wild mushrooms and onions. I am in heaven. I am not familiar with that kind, but, if they are earthy and delicious, it suits me well. I cannot make polenta properly to save my life. I have no idea what I am doing wrong! Dinner looks delicious and as always, you wow your readers with a meal, fit for a king.

You always say fast and easy, but, honestly, you make everything look like restaurant quality entrees. Thank you for sharing the best part of the day with us, and I am sure that it tasted as good as it looks! Maybe better! Oh, two cooks! Bean soup is a favorite dish of mine. I love the heartiness of the beans! Yummy delicious! What a lucky household that was that night!

Thank you for taking the time and effort to participate in #MarketFriday! Much appreciation goes to you!

As for the question: I said you are the Romanian who cooks that I appreciate most. Yes! It is true. I know two other that cook to eat only. You truly live to cook. There is a big difference!

Upped and Steemed

Tip!

I start by thanking you for the explanation of the cooks. It flatters me and I enjoy your opinion.

About the others, let me tell you a story:

In 1992, when my son was 10 years old, I was invited by a good friend to her home to give him some gifts to my boy. It was a celebration, St. Nicholas. Saint Nicholas makes gifts to the good children. We stayed until late at night, we went home after 10am. We lived relatively close to our friend. When we got home ... our house was burning! It burned it all up, we had only the clothes we were wearing. I rebuilt the house in almost two years, I was helped by friends and relatives. During this time I learned, alone (there was no internet, You Tube) to build, plumbing and electrical, heating ...Until then, at that unfortunate accident, I didn't know how to do anything.
