Market Friday Post: Market at the National Museum, ตลาดที่งานในพิพิธภัณฑ์สถานแห่งขาติ

This is my entry for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle. This market was part of the festival held at the National Museum in Bangkok last weekend. The festival was to celebrate the 237th anniversary of Bangkok as the capital of the Rattankosin Era.

As soon as we entered the gate, this musician was welcoming people with music composed by the late King Rama 9. All the exhibitions in the museum were free for three days. There were free cultural performances starting late afternoon till late at night. The front market sold traditional Thai food, snacks and sweets. The souvenir market had many Thai handicrafts such as silver jewelries, jasmine garlands, old style potteries and hand woven clothes.

The staff in the museum and all vendors were in old style Thai clothing from the old court style to daily artisan style in the past. Some visitors also came in beautiful Thai outfits; some children were dressed in cute old style with proper hair-do to go with their costumes. Most older visitors came with their families and they did a lot of group photos at the festival. It was very difficult for me to walk around without photo-bombing someone’s photo!

สุดสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา เราไปเที่ยวงานฉลองกรุงฯ ที่พิพิธภัณฑ์สถานแห่งชาติ เขาเปิดให้เข้าฟรีตลอดงาน ให้เข้าชมก้องต่างๆฟรีด้วย ตกบ่ายก็มีการแสดงมากมายให้ชม. มีการออกร้านขายอาหารตำรับโบราณสมัยรัชกาลที่ 5 หลายรายการ แต่ราคาค่อนข้างสูงไปหน่อย เขาเลือกเฉพาะร้านที่มีชื่อเสียงมาออกร้าน คนขายและเจ้าหน้าที่ในงานแต่งกายแบบย้อนยุคกัน เราถามเจ้าหน้าที่ว่าร้อนไหมใส่เสื้อราชประแตนหนามาก เขาหัวเราะและบอกว่าร้อนมากเลย เราเห็นใจตนจัดงานและ คนทำงานเพื่อส่วนรวม เขาอยากให้ทุกคนที่มาเที่ยวสนุก และมีความประทับใจดีๆ

เราสังเกตว่าคนส่วนใหญ่มากันเป็นครอบครัว และผู้อาวุโสพากันแต่งตัวสวยงามมาก เพื่อมาถ่ายภาพเป็นที่ระลึก เราโดนวานให้ช่วยถ่ายภาพหมู่ให้หลายกลุ่มทีเดียว นอกจากตลาดูของกินแล้ว ก็มีตลาดของที่ระลึก ขายเครื่องเงิน ผ้าทอมือ เครื่องปั้นดินเผา และของประดับบ้าน

บริเวณหน้าเวทีมีคนเริ่มจับจองที่นั่งตั้งแต่บ่าย เพราะจะมีการแสดงโขนด้วยในตอนค่ำ ของกินและขนมหลายอย่างขายหมดอย่างรวดเร็ว เราไม่น่าปล่อยให้เขาขายจนหมด เรามัวแต่เดินถ่ายภาพ พอกลับไปที่เดิม ของโปรดหายหมดแล้ว นี่ละหนอ ชีวิตเราเมื่อมีโอกาสมาตรงหน้าแล้ว ไม่ควรลังเลปล่อยให้ป่านไป เรารีบออกจากงานเพื่อไปนั่งเรือด่วนขบวนก่อนสุดท้ายกลับไปยัง ท่านํ้าสาทรนั่นเอง
