Violence is a virus and war is its plague. Plagues do not respect borders. When a plague breaks out the WHO runs to make sure it doesn't spread. Resources are mobilized and nobody argues that it should be just allowed to spread because it is happening 'over there'. Somehow we don't get that people die in war too and it can come 'home' at any time. Until peace is pursued in the same way that certain people spread war, everyone is vulnerable. Shame on those who are in a position to lessen the suffering of the world and its children and do nothing but reap the financial benefits of violence, Typhoid Marys and then some.
