Beach Boulders.
I came across these images yesterday and decided they would be ideal to submit for @shasta's #bouldersunday challenge.
They were all captured on the Caloundra Coast in Queensland, Australia. Caloundra is one of my favourite places to visit as it is close enough to home to enable John and I to do regular day trips, although we have been fortunate to enjoy a couple of weekly holidays there too.
The coastline is very picturesque and I really love the formation of the rocks and boulders created by strong tidal currents over many years.
Caloundra is well known for its breathtaking coastal headland, and part of that appeal is due to the many interesting coves and inviting sandy beaches available.
The sub-tropical climate of the Sunshine Coast makes Caloundra a popular place to visit all year round although not so many people swim during the brief winter months.
The cooler weather does not deter keen surfers, fisherman or others who love water sports and activities.
There are so many attractions to enjoy in the Caloundra area such as an open amphitheatre, a golf course designed by Greg Norman, (our famous Australian golfer) a large bathing pavilion, historical sites and so much more.
A short distance from here is the world famous Australia Zoo and the beautiful beach-side city of Caloundra is only one hour's drive north of Brisbane.
There are six main beaches to choose from in Caloundra, so water activities play a big part in the area. Activities such as, paddle canoes on calm inlets, surf the breaks, fish from jetties or further out to sea, ride a kayak, jet ski or wind surf or walk along the waterfront and dine in one of the restaurants or cafes whist taking in the fabulous sea views.
Many tours are organized from Caloundra which include the panoramic Glasshouse Mountains, and Aussie World. There are also a wide variety of resorts, restaurants, cafes, cinemas and plenty of entertainment to keep locals and visitors happy after enjoying the outdoors.
THANK YOU FOR VIEWING. HAVE A GREAT DAY.
