The fact that people (myself included) can't go one day without this chain speaks volumes about it's success.

I just woke up in a misty Brasil after only 4 hours sleep.

Didn't sleep to well.

I guess to much crypto emotions in one day for me yesterday to process in 1 night :)

I'm glad the blockchain is up and running again and even though it could have been prevented in the end everyone came together and it was fixed.

Which is what matters the most.

For me, it shows the resilience of this chain and the people building it.

What I personally like is how emotionally people get when the Steem blockchain shows a 'hiccup'.

The fact that people (myself included) can't go one day without this chain speaks volumes about it's success in my opinion. (I could easily go a day with Dash, Ethereum, Bitcoin).

And it was fun to go and checkout different communities and see how they handled things in the downtime on discord.

This will only increase in the future (the different communities, not the downtime...hopefully :) ).

Some more good news.

I did wakeup to a small pump in the Steem price! Not much but still a nice 20%. Let's see how that develops over the coming days.

At times, I do miss vlogging about Steem even though I still believe it's not necessary anymore.

But there is emotion in spoken words that I just can't translate to paper.

I think I will sneak one in from time to time :)

Anyway...

It's one of the last days in Brasil for me and Bianca.

It's been a very nice getaway from the usual things.

It was also the first long holiday I had since ever without the worry of any IT pending doom hanging over me (I used to have my own company for 10 years).

That freedom is hard to describe. All thanks to STEEM.

I agree! Hahha I was like a crazy person consistently refreshing the page to see if Steemit was back up!

that's called addiction, they have rehab for that ;-P

Hahahaha, exactly like me, until I eventually gave up and went to a marathon through a serie that I wanted to see long ago.

What happened really? I don't get it? And so happy you found your freedom, enjoy it

@steemitblog just posted a blog explaining it all.

It was also the first long vacation I had since the last time, without the worry that there is a pending sentence pending from me (I had my own company for 10 years).

That freedom is difficult to describe. All thanks to STEEM.

Dear @exyle, I am very happy for all your achievements, I know that it has taken you a long time to get where you are, and how good it is now where you live to live good and wonderful things, but also has an effort and sacrifice and you and Bianca They have done, and today you are living of all that, many of us are grateful of STEEM, but I know that you are more because you have been a good administrator and knowledgeable of the subject as such. I'm glad that soon you return to your city to your country and that you have enjoyed these long vacations as you deserve.

I am so glad to read (your last post) that you are well and healthy!
Soon you will fly back home. I hope you have a nice and a safe flight and I think (reading your posts) that you and Bianca had a wonderful stay in Brazil. Something very valuable for both of you. Love, mom

Thanks, mom! We had a great time! See you soon.

I feel you brotha...it was hard for me even with that half day down the other day. Iam sure there are many like us here, Mark :)

I don't think you will be able to resist a regular steemy update!! :0D

Haha! Me neither!

Mark @exyle have a nice Trip back Home with Bianca @bkdbkd and will be looking forward to your posts from the backyard and The Green Egg...........

I hear what you are saying about impending IT doom. It seems like no matter where I go on vacation I always get at least one phone call with some emergency that needs to be taken care of. My wife wishes I could just leave my phone at home sometimes. It was pretty interesting to see people's reactions to the outage yesterday. I was actually able to get some real work done :)!

I too have realized that I can go without even looking at bitcoin and other prices but my interaction with Steem is biw partnof my daily life as I feel that I miss building something if I am not engaging. Last night when everything got going I asked my if it was worth posting so late but I did as I have committed to consistency and there will always be challenges but tonremain consistent is important to demonstrate the dedication and engagement needed to grow the community.

Have a safe trip home! Glad you enjoyed your time in Brazil. It is nice not to have the responsibility of being on call 24/7...
