My Experience in the Last Couple of Months with Working as a Food Delivery Driver for Favor ( similar to Uber Eats and Door Dash)
My delve into the food delivery industry has been one of pleasant surprise and somewhat unexpected enjoyment. Favor is based at of Austin and is solely operating in the state of Texas and nowhere else. Of course Texas is like a small Country in of itself so this proposes no problems for over saturation.
I started off...
with just delivering HEB Groceries to customers. And the tips were just excellent. I did this from November to August and enjoyed the job immensely for part time income. ( HEB is only in Texas and is one of the largest privately held grocers in the World)
HEB Buys Out Favor...
for $34 mil. And now we deliver just about anything from Mcdonalds to Starbucks to groceries and even shovels from Home Depot and everything in between. You name it and we will deliver it to your front door. Although animals and pets are not included :)
The Tips...
You know it's very strange. Some of the wealthiest customers ( who live in mansions) can be the worst tippers. Not all of them of course but some are downright stingy. And then you get some customers who live in little one bedroom apartments who tip very generously. It's so hard to predict who will tip good or bad. I just gave up a long time ago trying to predict it lol
Conclusion...
I enjoy doing Favors. I get to meet a lot of interesting people and set my own hours. Plus, one huge plus is finding these little hidden restaurants that I would never have discovered had I not worked for Favors. Some really good ones that I plan on frequenting and taking my wife out on a date to ;)

P.S. I have also heard good things about DoorDash. And if it's anything like Favor ( which I hear it is) I highly recommend it for part time income. The good thing is DoorDash is nationwide.

What a very interesting experience, Rob ... there are so many things to be exchanged in this world where the poor are more generous than the rich.
I also enjoy the treat of finding those “hole in the wall” style restaurants.... found a place that makes its own donuts from scratch... want a chocolate blueberry fritter topped with bacon and peanut butter cups? They will do it 😝 just gotta wait for it to fry!
I wish we at SkipTheDishes had the wide variety like Favor delivering anything.... SkipTheDishes is working on cannabis deliveries but I doubt we would expand past consumables based on how our ordering is set up.... I bet you make a killing on those odd ball items.... lots of appreciation for saving the day delivering the essential missing piece while being stuck in the middle of a project type idea 😉

I used to work as a pizza delivery driver during my uni days. I experienced the same thing. The rich got rich by being stingy...
