I'm pleased to hear the twist did its job, as I wrote this in 15 mins in weekend freewrite challenge. I did do a minute or two editing after the stopwatch but it's pretty much a first draft.
I think freewriting fiction like this can add intensity for sure as you don't end up assessing as you're writing. So it pours unfiltered from the subconscious.
Ha ha, I'm not sure what that says about the inner workings of my mind though 😂
