Woohooo!!!! Guess who's rocking their new Fitbit Flex 2??!!! 😎

To be honest we got the notice from Target Katoomba that it arrived in store ready for pick up on Monday arvo. But Hubby has been finishing late all week so we couldn't pick it up until today.

Which should explain why I suddenly had heaps of free time to play @steemmonsters and why I'm writing this late night post ~ cos I'm raising funds for monster cards. 😂

Today, as promised, Hubby made up for all the late nights and came home early to take me up to Katoomba to finally pick up my Fitbit.

For those who aren't familiar with the 'Pick up in store' option. It's really straight forward.

Once your item arrives at your designated store you'll get an email with your receipt and a SMS alert to let you know it's ready (well that's how Target rolled anyway). When you're ready to pick it up, just have a copy of your receipt (I took a screenshot of my receipt), present it at the check out counter, they scan the barcode, get confirmation you're you and BOOM you're done.

After a bit of easter egg shopping (I figured my only joy this Easter will be coming from chocolate not seafood ~ so why not) and lunch at this amazing retro diner (that's for tomorrow's blog!) we finally headed home, keen to see what's in this huge box.

I did get the Flex 2 right?
That was the smallest Fitbit I could buy right?

I honestly felt bad for the environment seeing all this packaging for this bitty little thing..... That came in another plastic bag...

But well done Target North Lakes! The Fitbit was in perfect condition 👌

As you can see there's really not much to it.

1 x Charging cable
1 x Flex 2
1 x Small wristband/Flex 2 holder
1 x Large wristband/Flex 2 holder
1 x Warranty & warning booklet
1 x Slip of paper that tells you what you should have in the box and where to go from here.

Very standard stuff.

It told me to go to http://fitbit.com/setup and when I got there it just sent me to the Google app store 🙄

First Impressions

Not gonna lie.

For a bit there I thought WTF Fitbit, WTF.

Between the lack of user manual, and the website redirect to the app store, I'm thinking where's the human/personal touch? 🤨

Then the synching to my bluetooth was a tad problematic, mostly because it doesn't tell when you get the app started that you need to plug in the USB charger with the Flex 2 in it and press the button for it to recognize the new device.

BUT, after a bit of struggle and frustration we got there in the end and the Fitbit app finally synced with the Flex 2 and I was in business.

Or so I thought.....

I tested it out while I did some chores and it seemed to work well enough but the moment I got on the elliptical that's when it started to go funny on me. Funny as in it wasn't tracking all my movements/steps ~ which actually wasn't funny at all.

It took me docking the device back on the charger, pressing the button 3 times within 5 seconds to restart it, before it worked again.

So right now I'm a bit EHHH on it but we'll see how it goes tonight when it tracks my sleep. I'm really keen to see if it'll work and give me insight on my sleeping patterns.

Then there's the ultimate test with the elliptical tomorrow.... 🤞

The plus sides...

• It's small and not intrusive. I really like that about it.

• It fit my small wrist perfectly.
• It already had a decent amount of charge on it which meant it only took a little bit of charge before it was fully charged, meaning I could use it straight away.
• The lack of user manual is compensated by a Google search. That's how I found out about the reset method.

Overall I'm still reasonably pleased with my purchase.

Let's not forget, we got it for $49 which is a great price for a Fitbit.

I am, however, waiting until tomorrow before I give it both thumbs up. It all depends on how it goes with the cross trainer.

For now.... The Fitbit Flex 2 gets one 👍
