Humba for Dinner
Does somebody knows or have tasted this food ( i mean aside from my fellow Filipinos who love it) I cooked this for our dinner earlier tonight. Special for me , coz i don't usially cook this.
That dish i have for you guys is called humba. This dish can be somehow compared to our famous adobo . Yes, they had some same ingredients but this humba dish has a unique ingredient that makes it different from adobo.
Humba is a sweet pork dish...But you know , in today's cooking recipes , styles and strategies , some may want their dish or adobo taste like humba . like me i want my adobo sweet somehow. Mostly people would use either pork belly or pork ham to cook this. With my version , i really love to have meat really soft to bite hehe, so i make sure to boil it for some time.
Ingredients
1/2 kg pork
1 large onion
5 cloves garlic
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 sugar
1tbsp salt
1/2 tsp magic sarap
1/4 cup vinegar
black pepper
pineapple chunks
banana blossoms
bay leaf
How did i cooked it?
I've just put all the ingredients together in a large cooking pot. Let it boil for like 15-20 minutes or until the pork is really tender for me to eat. I also stir it occasionally to make sure all ingredients are perfectly mixed together. There it's all done and ready to be eaten.
