Whew!
It's a good thing we're running late today, too. We planned to be on the road two hours ago, but... Such is everything we ever try to do.
Today is the day that we leave for our first camping trip with the kiddo!
There's a lot of food packed in the car, and Stina has packed so much other stuff for the kiddo. It'll be fine. Good great. Really most of the stuff is beans because we're making chili.

I'm sure..
I just had an imaginationing... a thought? I had an imaginationing that one of our fellow campers, thinking they were being mischievous, but not at all malicious would put a hallucinogen in the chili, and we'd eat it unknowingly, and then our child would be in danger. YIKES. But I'm sure that won't happen. No one is a bad person in our camping group, and everyone is a responsible person. And if someone started tripping, we'd induce vomiting for ourselves and call 911 to take care of us. It would be terrible to lose our child... Or
well, the point is. everything is going to be fine, this is just my overactive worry part of my brain imagining the worst case scenario. And the worst case is that we'll be overtired, ok? Just overtired, and we can deal with that. WE CAN.
I hope we'll be comfortable enough to sleep at least a little. Our poor child. Our poor selves. EvERYTHING WILL BE ALL RIGHT, even if we start a little late

The weather is a bit cold here today and now you have me craving chili. I remember being constantly late when my children were younger and don't miss all of the many things that had to be packed in order to bring a little one anywhere, let alone camping!
Being concerned about your son while away is understandable. (Have to love parent brain, don't you?) I was so worried the first time we took our youngest one camping. She was 3 and I imagined sleeping through her opening the tent and wandering away. (I even padlocked the tent zippers together so that it wouldn't happen. 😂)
