Bethesda has outdone themselves at this E3 conference and really raised the bar in the industry.

E3 already has had its share of excitement from various game announcements but, Bethesda, coming out as the #1 ranked publisher in the world, held their conference last night and it was amazing. It was an hour and a half of pure excitement driven by upcoming games and even some updates/console ports to existing ones as well as VR versions of some of their games.

Fallout 4 (2).png

Last night I was streaming some Fallout 4 and as soon as I realized the time I got off of the game and tuned into the E3 conference. I have to say that Bethesda really outdid themselves and currently my gaming calendar has Bethesda written all over it.

As I watched the conference, I took some notes and highlighted some of the awesome things they covered. Today while I was at work I couldn’t stop thinking of all the great stuff they showcased and couldn’t make up my mind on what to play next. Bethesda having such a great E3 conference and having games that are in my top ten games, I had to make a post like this and hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think and what you're looking forward to.

  • RAGE 2

I’m excited for this game from what I’ve seen. I need to go back and finish the first Rage game and get ready for some crazy wasteland adventuring. We got a live performance to warm up the event (even though no one seemed like they were ready for that level of excitement.)

RAGE 2 – Official E3 Gameplay Feature

As the gameplay trailer started up we find out that apparently 80% of the Earth’s population is dead so we’re painting that apocalyptic scene right off the bat and then after seeing a vehicle it says, “If u see it, you can drive it” and the guy gets in and takes off.

The driving and vehicles reminds me of racing in Full Auto / Death Race which I’m always down for. The combat looks like a lot of fun fast paced running & gunning while tossing your Boomerang and implosion-type grenades at enemies to make a fantastic mess of things as shown in the trailer.

There’s a brief moment where you see a mounted head on a TV in the trailer and listed it for $119.99, so let’s see what this Collector’s Edition looks like for this game. One of the last things we also see is this Eco Pod come crashing down and it reminded me almost of the DEFIANCE game I played on the Xbox 360. It seems like it has a lot of surprises and over the top fun. I think from what we’ve seen, this game may borrow some craziness from games like Borderlands or maybe even _FARCRY: Blood Dragon, in the sense of don’t take yourself fully seriously and have a blast. Even at the end they show vast environments and not just a barren desert, so that’s something to be excited about. Now just to wait for Spring 2019…

  • Bethesda Legends

I understand this is an Elder Scrolls strategy card game but I really am not sure and personally am not interested, but if you’re into Hearthstone, Gwent, or any of the other mobile card games in that genre, it may be worth checking out.

  • The Elder Scrolls Online

I personally checked out ESO in the BETA stages and enjoyed it but never really committed myself to playing this MMO, although the video they showed looked awesome and may change my mind about checking it out once again lol. They started off by mentioning it was MMO of the Year for the 3rd straight year and it’s clear why. They’ve been consistent on their DLC coming out and continue to plan on it releasing in such a way. They are also exploring and expanding upon the lore of the Argonian culture and Murkmire which anyone who’s heavy into the lore of the Elder Scrolls games should appreciate. From what I’ve heard from friends, to viewing the upcoming DLC, to finding out The Elder Scrolls Online is now part of the Xbox Game Pass.. now might be the best time to jump into some ESO.

  • DOOM: ETERNAL

Right out the gate we’re looking at some crazy Hell-on-Earth game and I’m thinking this looks like maybe DMC? Hmm what’s DOOM got in store for us this time?

I haven’t played the last DOOM games but they mentioned the Doomslayer would feel more powerful which sounds awesome, there would be more badass demons (twice as many), and they will be bringing in a ton of new features all while bringing a Hell-on-Earth experience. We’ll be finding out more about it later this year

  • Quake Champions

For this game the dude announcing it looked like he got dressed in PUBG and with the name “Champions” I was thinking this is a battle royale type game trying to compete with the current gaming trends of Fortnite, etc.. but luckily enough, it wasn’t, and it seems like a fun FPS to check out.

You can get early access and it’s free so why aren’t you going to check it out for yourself? The trial week of the game is until June 17th so go to https://quake.bethesda.net/en to sign up and check it out.

  • Prey

Prey (3).png

First and foremost, Prey is in my top ten games and is a highly underrated game. I have 1000 achievement points in the game and have played it 3 different ways and thought the game was great, and the ending(s) were great. Uou can’t help but call it Bioshock in Space and that’s definitely not a bad thing. Celebrating a year of this game, they came out with a free update including a few things a lot of players old and new can appreciate,

  • Story Mode
  • Survival mode
  • New game plus

Prey: Mooncrash DLC

Prey: Mooncrash – Official E3 Launch Trailer

After watching the trailer for the DLC I wanted to watch it again lol. I loved the choice of music for their video, the “Failed Attempt X, Resetting Simulation teases, their mention of every death matters while you’re trying to escape the moon has me more than curious and I’ll be spending the $19.99 on this DLC for sure. As they mentioned Prey is about playing your own way and now with New Game + and survival I’ll have to stream some of that on DLive when I can. We get to look forward to the Typhon Hunter PvP mode that will be coming out later as well so it’s good to know they’ve been working on the game and plan to continue to do so. So kudos to Arkane Studios.

  • Wolfenstein

Now you can fight Nazis on the go on the Nintendo Switch and they showed the next installment where you could play as BJ’s twin daughters in the 1980s. Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a coop game coming out next year that I look forward to playing. I remember people on twitter not too long ago were trying to give Bethesda shit for their posts against Nazis and I find it hilarious that as they wrapped up that segment they mentioned they wanted to bring the message of “Fuck Nazis” to every platform possible lmao.

  • Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Special Edition (26).png

Around the transition to the Fallout 76 segment, the Game Director, Todd Howard is out on stage, poking fun of getting to the “main” event and before moving onto Fallout, he says, “I think its to see where we’re putting Skyrim next.”

Skyrim: Very Special Edition – Official E3 2018 Trailer

Also with all the ridiculousness of posts on the internet for what you can play Skyrim on next.. Bethesda 1-up’d the internet and came out with A Very Special Skyrim Edition and their response/ ridiculousness was amazing.

  • Fallout 76

“In Vault 76 our future begins”

Fallout 76 – Official E3 Trailer

I could not have been happier with their reveal of Fallout 76. Everything from the video of seeing the nukes come down for the first time (gave me goosebumps) to the very end had me yelling shut up and take my money. I cannot wait for this game!

We first were told a few things and shown a video showcasing Fallout 76..

  • is 4x the size of fallout 4
  • has lush environments
  • has large envrionments
  • has hulk monsters and other crazy folklore creatures to hunt.
  • has an older version of the PipBoy, keeping it accurate
  • has 16x the detail
  • has new weather systems

In the trailer itself, it mentions rebuilding in multiple fashions, minds, hearts, schools, America, etc. What I’m not fully getting is, will we have to build colonies and go in depth with schools and all that? Or was it just metaphorical...?

Then we take a turn and find out that Fallout 76 is entirely online! Driven by an idea that came about 4 years ago, we are now looking at a “softcore” survival type game, so let’s see how that turns out. Todd Howard goes on about how he enjoys hearing of stories people create on their own and is going to give us the opportunity to create a completely unique experience with other real players.

They said you decide the heroes and the villains, I take this much more than factions in game, but the PvP in whatever server you’re in especially that it’s going to be a large open world game with very few rules as he says. The good thing he mentions is lower player counts being it’s the apocalypse and it should be a bit more realistic with not hundreds of people walking around, but dozens. After playing a game like ARK Survival Evolved, I personally am curious to know how in depth they will go and if it will compare in any way, especially if there’s nukes 😉.

You can go to other friends’ worlds and adventure together and apparently build wherever you want and then move it as you need to which sounds useful, especially if you find yourself under constant attack from monsters, raiders, supermutants, etc. From what we see in the reveal, we don’t see ridiculous sized settlements/camps, so let’s see how limited that is. Overall there is a lot of fun to be had and memories. The reveal had it’s share of funny moments and showcasing the emotes/character pictures was fun to see the depth they are looking to go with the characters. I can’t wait to kick some ass while exploring West Virginia in Fallout 76 with some friends and work on “rebuilding the America we hold dear”.

.. and of course, they are keeping it appealing to the person who prefers solo play, a single player will be available as well for those who don’t want the multiplayer experience.

They showed of the Collector’s Edition of the game coming in at $200 and besides the cool glow in the dark map and figures, it comes with a wearable Helmet with functional Headlamp and Voice Modulator.. which is also sold out everywhere and I’ve tried getting mine -_- for now we have to wait until November 14, 2018. I am so pumped and all the Fallout 4 I’ve been playing and streaming lately might not pacify my hunger for the next Fallout!

  • The Elder Scrolls: Blades

Their announcement of The Elder Scrolls on the phone seemed to go very well. Exploring dungeons and the world of The Elder Scrolls at your fingertips (and in portrait mode) seems very promising and the quality looks really good for something you’re going to be playing on your phone. It’s much more than a tap to collect/play game. The sword and attack motions seemed pretty intuitive and the various modes, Survival, Arena, and the main Town mode seemed you could dump a ton of hours into that game similarly to Skyrim and be able to build your own town and visit friends. It’s going to be free and that’s good enough for me. Go to Playblades.com for early access.

  • Starfield

Looking forward, Bethesda is working on brand new single player game that they teased with a short video. Looked beautiful, almost like I was about to watch 2001: A Space Odyssey and then a random implosion in space, so for now you have my curiosity.

  • The Elder scrolls IV

Although we don’t know much, they teased the next installment to the Elder Scrolls series and fans everywhere cannot wait.. as their conference wrapped up, “today was a good day” flashed on the screen and they could not be more right. Kudos Bethesda - be sure to check out their other trailers and info on their site for additional info.

Great Review. I am most looking forward to The Elder Scrolls: Blades but Fallout 76 has me a bit excited too. Only thing I don't like is that the multiplayer and nuke codes may make the landscape near unlivable. Still awesome stuff. Prey looks awesome too. Def death race. Awesome Article.

Thanks! Something tells me getting the nuke codes should take a while and may either make the game or break it depending on the ease of getting them, how often, etc. Something tells me if you nuke an area, it'l calm down and become more habitable maybe after so many days? Let's see, they keep saying, we wll make the rules for Fallout 76..
