That is good you got them planted. It isn't so easy to grow stuff here in Arizona. We have to fight the land so hard and lately it has been 106 degrees out.
Yeah, I'm sure the soil isn't the best for growing things down there, though you could truck in a ton of compost and make it work with some sun shades to boot...you have to be more than a basic hobbyist for that though.
