How kind of you to rescue the baby tree! My cousin and I rescued a baby maple tree that had begun growing in the crack of a sidewalk. She use the nail file that she had in her purse to dig it out and she took it home and planted it in their yard. That was almost 20 years ago and the maple tree is really large now and I go and give it a bit of a hug every time I visit her house.
That's wonderful. it's nice to see the plant growing if you know you contributed to it. I'm going to check on this one.
