The diary Game Sunday 31st March 2024: Family Reunion Day
Hey there lovely ladies! I hope you're all doing well and having a great week. I had an amazing weekend that I'd love to share with you. My family and I visited my husband's village to spend time with his parents, and it was such a heartwarming experience.
We woke up early and set off for the village, enjoying a smooth journey and lots of fun conversations with the kids. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by my in-laws and some family friends. I cooked some delicious meals, and we all had a great time together. Let me beat you a bit!
We left dot 7:30 AM, and the journey was smooth and enjoyable, we've passed 9 rivers, and the roads were fine, my kids were asking uncountable questions, hahaha 😂. We reached the village by 9:00 AM and my in-laws were so happy to see us. They carried their grandchildren.
Only the kids took tea and bread for breakfast before we left, so I immediately started to prepare white soup and pounded yam, I cooked the soup with firewood, so it was done in no time, and we enjoyed it together.

My kids really enjoyed themselves, they played so much, after some hours neighbours and friends started coming, so I prepared pepper soup rice with chicken for them. We took two big full chickens there, so it was enough for everyone to eat at least 2 pieces each. We had drinks too, so everyone ate to their satisfaction.
They were grateful, all of them blessed us and I was happy to see them happy, indeed there's more joy in giving than there's in receiving. It was an enjoyment all through, in no time I started cooking plantain porridge, and we took 3 heads of goat meats and scent leaves so I used them to prepare the sumptuous meal and we all ate it for dinner. One of the most special moments for me was when my mother-in-law called my name, despite her struggle with dementia. It was truly heartwarming to see her remember me and be filled with joy. This trip was a beautiful opportunity to bond with loved ones, and I'm looking forward to more moments like this in the future.

It's really nice as you enjoy every moment of your visiting. Your joy is indeed full especially when you have nice in-laws that offer you a warmth welcome. Many aren't lucky to have such opportunities. It's a nice thing for you to see both your mother in-law and the father in-law still alive to welcome their grandchildren. The kids are also happy to meet with their grannies and your in-law though having the health challenge still find chance to remember you, it's love and connection that makes this possible.. Wow, it's really nice to see what your activities are, the children are very happy, even though your father-in-law is suffering from dementia, I'm sure from your story that he really loves you like his own biological child or maybe more...
