I have never heard of the Dark Red Norlands, but I am sure the mulch will help a lot with the weeds. We are putting several of our things in blocks to see if that will help smother out the weeds. Best of luck with the mulching!
I used to grow Yukon Golds but they at some point stopped doing well here. My husband is the one who eats potatoes, as I try to avoid nightshades. He selected the Dark Red Norlands. They have a dark red skin and white flesh, medium sized, considered an early variety. They've done pretty well here.
