Mushroom Hunting At The Camp Cabin
So today when I went to work on the Camp Cabin, the grandkids and I took about 20 minutes to do some mushroom hunting. I am definitely an amature in the mushrooming department. So I am studying, not consuming, except for a limited repertoire.
Here are some pics of what we found in a very short time! On some of them I provide some guesses on ID. Don't depend at all on my opinion! This is not meant to be authoritative at all!!!

I think that these are Crown Tipped Coral Mushrooms
Wondering if this is King Bolete?
This is a golden colored Bolete. It spores are yellow. Not sure of edibility. Beautiful though, and have found them before out there.
The pore surface is yellower than shows in picture:
This mushroom is quite prevalent out there right now. It has a pink stained cap, white gills, that join to the stipe. Beautiful!

Excellent finds... We had a lot of bolets in our area all through the summer and I didn't consume any as I am also learning right now.

Yes true true, I'm loving all the learning I've been doing. Just don't eat anything you're not 100%... when in doubt throw it out!

Yes, they are. I am trying to learn the proper way to ID. I forage a lot of wild products. Mushrooms are just another step for me. However, it is a big one! A couple things I want to do is some spore print pictures for my wall! I just think they are amazing! I also want to make my own private ID binder, with a couple pictures, a spore print, and comments for myself. I think the process could assist my study, and give me a valuable reference that can serve along side a field guide.
I want to forage for mushrooms as well, but like you said its a big step in learning which ones are safe or not.
Spores can tell you, also looking at them under a microscope helps to ID a mushroom strain. Very cool with the prints. I want to make some art out of them as well. They come in all different colors and patterns.
