RE: The Hidden Elements of Homesteading: Est Apple Orchard!!!

in #homesteading5 years ago

Truly yes, the behind the scenes which nobody ever gets to see. Some days we spend so much time in the hard labour stages, that at the end of the day we almost feel unaccomplished when we have nothing to show for it, or so it seems.

Fast forward a few days, months, or years, and it is apparent it was all so worthwhile.

I have tried to have success with apples, losing three within a few years after planting. The determined person I am, I just planted two this summer and will see how they fair. Should these two die I will have to succumb to the realization apples may not be in my future here.

Great video and indeed wonderful to have, to be able to look back on one’s progress!

Ya, the days of hard “invisible” labor can be tough. Looking at work is
So rewarding, but sometime there’s less obvious action needed.

Sorry to hear of your Apple losses, that’s tough. Best of luck with the new ones. One thought is that trees grown in containers often do poorly. It’s said that fall planting bare root stock is best for successful planting. you may have apples on you future, don’t give up;)
