Hydroponics are one leg of the aquaponics duopoly. The other leg is using some animals to generate the nutrition the plants need, such as prawns, crawdads, or tilapia. I have no doubt this is a trend that will continue to grow, particularly as the drawbacks of legacy agriculture continue to conflate the hazards of chemical biocides, habitat loss, and other flaws.

Am I the only guy that remembers people growing weed hydroponically back in the '80s?
